"Thanks" and "Like" have been used on NamePros for a long time, and we'd like your thoughts on additional ones that we should add.

Please also feel free to let us know which quick replies we should remove.

Thanks in advance!

I noticed we now have a love option in quick reply... Any chance we can add some reactions, specifically "lol" or something similar?

Yes, which ones do you want? We probably wonโ€™t use โ€œlolโ€ specifically, but weโ€™ll figure out another way to express it.

Just looking for a way to express laughter...

Take this post for instance:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/20...-domain-what-next.1330986/page-6#post-9218604

It made me laugh. The intent was likely to bring joy to the reader. If that was the intent, then the post succeeded.

I don't necessarily agree with the lyrics, so I don't necessarily want to like the post. I could thank the post for their effort in making me laugh. I could respond with a ๐Ÿคฃ emoji to let the poster know it made me laugh, but I would prefer some sort of LoL quick reply...

Would also be great if there was a way to sort or uncover posts with lots of laughs!

Would be even greater if you could use your laugh points to buy/win domains!

Any others we should add?
Any of these buttons:

"Interesting. Will reply soon."

"Will reply tomorrow. I promise."

"We're in a different timezone, let's meet at this place tomorrow and talk further."

Weโ€™re still exploring the best options for this, but weโ€™ve added the following to see how it goes:
  1. Smiled
  2. Laughed
  3. Chuckled (thanks to @Molly)
  4. Giggled (thanks to @Chris Hydrick)
Edited to clarify.

Maybe one of these:
  • Acknowledged
  • Rain check
  • Hold tight
  • Wait up
  • Hold on
  • Stand by
  • TODO
  • Pending
This feels like playing Scrabble, or domain investing. One of the two.

Edited to add more options.

how about eliminating fully dislike button ... replace with something less hostile like disagree or... nope... or thumbs down... or emoji for thumb down... I believe dislike is too strong and often triggers people and creates a cycle of violent posts for nothing. let's make np more friendly this way yea?

Weโ€™re still exploring the best options for this, so these may be replaced or removed, but weโ€™ve added the following to see how it goes:

I couldn't find them at first, but it turns out that I have to scroll down inside the popup to see those options. Can the popup be enlarged?

Iโ€™d personally vote for Stand By. Itโ€™s a good way to acknowledge receipt & state a reply is imminent. I think the others might be a little weaker at the latter point.

And as embarrassing as it may be, I didnโ€™t even realize there were other options to agree, like, thanks. I love being able to love and laugh, and very much so appreciate the chuckle & love options.

Do the quick reply options change depending on account level, seniority, etc? I swear many of these werenโ€™t in my quick reply options for a long time.

There is no room for giggling on a professional forum like NamePros.

(First choice given when searching "giggle" in the xenforo GIF finder ๐Ÿ‘‡)

But the below gif might have been more fitting:

Same for everyone. Weโ€™ve been adding more over the past couple weeks.

Weโ€™re going to add a lot more quick replies.

Scrolling will be unavoidable, unfortunately.

I understand. But then it must be made clearer that there is still a whole world of emotions to be discovered below the fold.

Excellent idea! We can get rid of the Dislike button once we have some replacement options like โ€œUnhelpfulโ€ and maybe โ€œUnamusedโ€?

I personally love the idea of replacing dislike with unhelpful. Itโ€™s a very neutral way of saying โ€œno thanks, next pleaseโ€. Dislike feels too personally loaded.

"Respectfully disagree" / "I see it differently" / "This isn't my cup of tea" / "Not my style".
