You should add the options of “yes” and “no” in quick replies.
That would be very useful when someone asks a very specific question, like whether a website is down or not.
What happens now is that everyone has to reply with a comment, and that adds unnecessary comments to the thread .

Round 2 of new gTLDs is starting to excite the world. A new section would be interesting with new upcoming ideas and projects.

Hey guys,
don't know if somebody talked about this Topic; I have analyzed the Cookies, and I know that VPNs for example, are blacklisted, but not all.
Nevertheless, some Improvement ideas and additional security Layers:

Security Improvements (current Set-up)​

1. HttpOnly Flag:
   • Change: Apply to sensitive cookies.
   • Reason: Prevents script-based access, reducing XSS risk.
2. Secure Attribute:
   • Change: Use on all cookies.
   • Reason: Ensures cookies are sent over HTTPS, preventing interception.
3. SameSite Attribute:
   • Change: Implement for cookies.
   • Reason: Mitigates CSRF attacks by controlling cross-site requests.
4. Anonymize IP in Analytics:
   • Change: Anonymize user IPs in Google Analytics.
   • Reason: Enhances privacy, aligns with GDPR.
5. Strengthen CSRF Protection:
   • Change: Enhance np_csrf cookie validation.
   • Reason: Prevents CSRF attacks more effectively.

Security Additions ​

1. Content Security Policy (CSP):
   • Addition: Implement CSP headers.
   • Reason: Prevents XSS attacks by controlling resource loading.
2. Regular Security Audits:
   • Addition: Conduct audits and penetration testing.
   • Reason: Identifies and fixes vulnerabilities and updates security.
3. Data Encryption:
   • Addition: Encrypt sensitive data.
   • Reason: Protects data integrity and confidentiality.
4. Firewall and Network Security:
   • Addition: Implement advanced firewall and network security measures.
   • Reason: Blocks unauthorized access attempts and filters malicious traffic, preventing hacker intrusions via methods like RDP and SOCKS5.
5. Disable Unnecessary Services:
   • Addition: Turn off services like RDP if not in use.
   • Reason: Reduces potential entry points for hackers.
6. Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS):
   • Addition: Deploy IDS/IPS for real-time monitoring.
   • Reason: Detects and prevents intrusion attempts, safeguarding against hacking tools and techniques.

Namepros Remains Full of Scammers

Namepros is one of the top domaining communities, but it's disheartening to see the persistence of scam activities that tarnish the platform's integrity.

I've previously suggested implementing a requirement for a 100 impact score before members can engage in trades. Unfortunately, this has not yet been adopted, and the issue persists. To further the efforts in creating a safer trading environment, I suggest the following enhanced measures:

1. Mandatory Use of Trusted Escrow Services: Transactions should only be conducted through reputable escrow services such as PayPal, DAN, and Escrow.com. This will add an extra layer of security for both buyers and sellers, ensuring funds are safely held until the domain transfer is verified.
2. Establishment of a NamePros Escrow Service: Creating an in-house escrow service tailored to our community's needs could offer more secure, efficient transactions. This service would need to adhere to strict security standards to ensure the utmost trust from our users.
3. Stringent Identity Verification for Sellers and Buyers: Implementing a rigorous identity verification process for anyone wishing to buy or sell on Namepros would significantly reduce the number of scammers. This process could include submitting government-issued ID, a video verification call, and other fraud-prevention measures.
4. Educational Resources on Scam Prevention: In all sales threads, Namepros should link to a comprehensive guide to educate members on recognizing and avoiding scams.

Scammers are preying on honest domainers every day.

Is NamePros ready to get serious and take action to keep its members safe?

Apologies for not responding sooner; our notifications were accidentally cleared (fat fingered), and we didn’t receive a new notification because this thread hadn’t been read yet.

An “unread posts excluding buy/sell” button. Or just move that to its own market. Often hard to find good discussions between all the commerce.

Agreed! These are now available at the top of the home page with red icons.

Also, now statistic info is hidden(before there was a link, like in case with replies, so after click on link you may see more information). Was it removed by NP or forum update I'm not sure.

We have quick scrolling on the right side of the page that allows you to get to the post area within 1-2 seconds.

Enable it under Appearance: Smart scroll.

We still agree; we should do your suggestion, too.
