What are the domain names that are impossible to be available for new registration I know for example that LLL.com NNN.com and even NNNN.com are impossible to be available at any time what are other impossible variations ?

And few more questions do the domain registrars register domains for their own benefits ? and do they use bots for picking up all the premium names automatically so they can resell for very high prices ? and how legal and acceptable are those activities ?

Generally if a short domain name random combo is worth more than regfee it is registered.

Obviously if you can buy $20 dollars for $10 it will soon be gone.

Maybe some do this. It wouldn't surprise me.

I don't know if people use bots to register domain names but it wouldn't surprise me.

If it is legal to register a domain manually to resell it why would it be illegal to have a bot do the work?

Nowadays bots do all kinds of work, why shouldn't they be used?

About being acceptable. Why is it a problem if a registrar registers domains and if a domainer does it it would be OK.

Hi, Emily. Welcome to Namepros! :xf.smile:

Start by googling "drop catching" and the mist will start to clear, gradually :xf.wink:

Just came across the info that Snapnames, for example, painstakingly go through a list of 60 000 or so daily expired pending deletions manually handpicking the most worthy for drop/catch re-registrations

why do you believe they do it manually? IMO they do at least narrow down the selection with a script.

They hand-pick the domains, as per quote given below, but 'snap-register' them automatically using state of the art algorithms:

''With over 60,000 deleting domains available daily it’s easy to miss out on gems. So, we've gone through all of the domains available today and picked the best 100.''

    From Dropcatch:
"Every day 60,000 - 85,000 .com and .net domain names become available on the 'daily Drop'
    Domains Dropping Today: 86,741"

It's not that much really if you are 10 people taking 8000 names each.
Majority of them are crappy names and for a newbie it would be a big problem knowing what to look for though. But there are some software to filter domains: Age, backlinks, Moz/Alexa Rank etc.

I used to read the drop lists (tens of thousands of names per day) but that was years ago. There is not enough quality to justify the time. The problem is that anything that is remotely decent will be snapped anyway.
Of course I still run scripts, but scripts cannot assess the brandability of a name. Some good names still slip through the cracks, but it's best to secure them before they drop ie at prerelease auction.
