I know it's a wired question but still I am curious to read some thoughts from experienced people.

Thanks alot.It depends.
If you register a domain when it's trending or the market is hyped means that it will likely sell faster (1 day to 6 month)
If you register a non-trending or ordinary domain, it may take longer to sell, often ranging from several months to a few years, as there is less immediate demand and interest in such domains.
But in the domain industry, there is a percentage of luck involved, so even a non-trending or ordinary domain can sometimes sell quickly if the right buyer comes along.
I believe I will not by junck crap names. But 10 years is more because the market may totally change. From 1 day to 10 years or you will hold the name forever if itβs crap name.
I am knowing this business from last 1.5 years but I did not buy anything. I seen some good name but eventually it was a crap. But now I can't wait to enter into this game. From 1 day to 10 years or you will hold the name forever if itβs crap name.
When you wrote about market hyped name. I was going to register gptquantumverse.comIt depends.

HiI know it's a wired question
Hi,The only reason I step back because the trafic was not good for this keyword. Yes the keywords communications like "gpt" "quantumverse" has good amount of traffic but less when combined
Thankyou, I left many domain back just because of not having enough traffic. Maybe in that I left valuable name as well.Hi
best to proofread what you write, before posting.
poor grammar, misspelled words, can lead to bad registrations.
imo...
Hi,
don't confuse 'search volume" for a word or phrase, as the "actual amount of traffic" that a made up domain using such terms will receive.
you will never know actual traffic, until after you acquire the name.
imo...

"Most likely never" sad line.from 1 day to never. mostly likely never.
"Most likely never" sad line.
Thankyou...
Yes. I realised many things before buying my first name.sad but true.. the sooner u realize domains aren't quick easy money the better![]()
I feel like name can be sold anytime. Just depend on buyer.Technically your question has NO answer
Thankyou for your time. So I should go with hand reg domain at starting. This seems like a no question. Domaining is so fluid and unpredictable market that no one can answer this. Hand registered or not, does not mean anything first of all and is therefore no question. Maiden domain is perhaps what it is meant to be. There are few experts who could answer this convincingly for the ever expanding horizon of TLDs are making the market ever so dynamic. You.ai sold for 700,000 $ even the best of the domainer's would not have been to predict. Even some .com names would surprise many since the beginning and it is still as mysterical as it ever was. Yet the life cycle depends upon the quality. Best advice is more you spend time in buying a hand registered domain, the lesser it would take to sell. Some domain quotes are being coined at mind.it.com. Perhaps of interest to you and all.
Majority people said it will never. This hurt me but yes it is reality. Still I would likely to go with hand reg with few margin of profit. Beginning can be slow. This analysis of sales reported by NamePros members during the first 6 months (almost) of this year indicated an average hold time of 25 months for those that reported hold time. Now that was not just for hand registrations, but 62% of sample were hand registrations.

But, I would agree with what others have posted. It can literally be from a few days to never, with probably the majority of hand registrations never selling. It also depends on pricing, but probably in a complex way.

Hi.ai was in trending and I missed this stage.
