The first domain name ever registered was Symbolics.com. It was registered 1985, to Symbolics Inc., a computer systems company in Cambridge, Mass.

I think it will be interesting to see who owns the oldest domain here on NamePros.

The oldest domain in my portfolio is:

• PlasmaScreen.co.uk (1997) which is a whopping 18 years old (nearly as old as me!)

This was my theory in purchasing mine as well. There are only a limited number of these old names still with their age intact making them valuable to collectors??? IDK that is my thought process anyways.

I believe these domains will be hot cakes in 20-30 years down the road. Takes a small $150 investment for renewals. But look at it as you would Antiques, Trading Cards, etc.

I mean, how many of these will be available to the public then? A dozen? Scarcity improves the price.
