The first domain name ever registered was Symbolics.com. It was registered 1985, to Symbolics Inc., a computer systems company in Cambridge, Mass.

I think it will be interesting to see who owns the oldest domain here on NamePros.

The oldest domain in my portfolio is:

• PlasmaScreen.co.uk (1997) which is a whopping 18 years old (nearly as old as me!)

In fact, Nordu.net has it beat by a couple months, registered on January 1, 1985. Still intact in the Whois!

I find it intriguing that the first domain ever registered was Symbolics.com in 1985, I mean if that was me I would have registered a big list of generic words like help.com website.com and so on without even thinking about resale value in the future.

I find it weird that some of the oldest domains on here are ones that I don't feel really have too much value. Take mine for instance. StrandUK? I mean what the heck is that? lol
