How old is your oldest domain?

I have one .com that is registered on 16 April 1997.

I have 2 I hand regged in 2000, 04/11/2000 & 05/29/2000 plus many more after that which are almost as old.

I bought and sold several that were regged earlier than that.

I think you have the wrong date. Wikipedia has a list of the oldest domains ever registered and the date you mentioned doesn't appear there:

Very few domains were registered in 1985. The oldest one I've ever owned was from 1990. These days the oldest ones I have are from 1995.

Given that DNS wasn't a standard until 1987, pretty sure your guess is correct.

I have had many old domains as most of us have.

Age is the last thing I look at.

While it is true recently regged domains may have little value,

many old domains also suck.

I don't think age means that much.

Just take a look at the ages of the domains that drop

every day.

Most are worthless, but many have ages dating back

20 years or more.
