I do not want to pay a drop-catching service and am pretty confident the domain in pendingDelete I want is not going to be backordered by anyone else.

What is the fastest site i can go through a manual registration with once it drops? So i dont have to go through pages of payment details etc.?

Dynadot is the fastest if you use their API. (You can use the API manually with the URL with your browser - just hit refresh)

That was one on my list... knew I wouldn't catch it though lol
Was on my list as well. ;) NameJet/SnapNames caught it so it's in a private auction now (I'm in the auction).

you don't have to get it. You can set it manually after registration.

Greater chance using a VPS with a fast connection.

DIY is possible but I'm thinking more and more it might be better to get @FPForum software.

Enom is no good for registering dropped names though... even hours afters it's dropped and free to register, it will say that it's unavailable; at least my experience.
Absolutely correct using "bulk register" at eNom BUT if you are taking the chance on a handReg use "bulk" and add it to your cart instead of "instant purchase." Then GO to your cart and hit "Checkout now" to get to the "Submit order" page. Leave that window open, but open a second window follow this link:
http://freewho.com/checker/

Type the name you want, then "Check domains" to get the registration status.
Refresh the page
Refresh the page
Refresh the page
โ€ฆ
And eventually the name will either show as a new reg (likely dropcatch) or status bar goes yellow and shows as available.

Get to your (still open) "Submit order" page and "Press the button"

Do you have any resources or tools you can suggest that would notify me when it is available for registering? Or do i have to sit and refresh the dynadot purchase page for a few hours xD

We have a watch list that you can add the domain(s) to. Once the status changes, we will email you about it.

Also, we're glad to hear people have been using our drop catch and API successfully. We do recommend using prepay with our service as that will make any order complete much faster. Our drop catch starts at around $15.99, but could go higher if it goes to auction, especially depending on the domain name, so that is something to consider when you decide how much to prepay. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

I usually use a backorder somewhere (several registrars are quick).
And I sometimes get hand-regged domains. (ddot a.o.)

BUT CAN SOMEBODY EXACTLY EXPLAIN WHAT "API" means ? And refreshing (F 5).
Is it a URL with the searchdomain in it ????.

The API (application programming interface) is how the server interacts with commands given in a URL. With dynadot, for example:

https://api.dynadot.com/api2.html?key=8S7I2s6Qd8g&
command=register&domain=mydomain.com&duration=1

The part after "key=" would have to be replaced with your assigned api key.

"command=register" is telling the server that you want to register a name.

&domain=" specifies which domain you are registering

And "&duration=" specifies the number of years of registration.

Each time you enter that URL, it sends the command, and the server will acknowledge and respond with either a success, failure, or system _ busy string.

How do you get the part after key ??? Is it assigned by DDot, asking them in an email ?
