What is the business model for LLLL.com ?

Almost everyday, I see forum members offering to buy LLLL or NNNN domains, even if they are totally meaningless.

On an other hand, I don't see much (if any) of these domains being offered for sale on flippa or brandbucket or similar sites.

I wonder what is the business model for this kind of domains.

Do you search methodically end-user-companies by their initials and make them direct offers to buy your domain ? Or is there an other (mysterious) method to sell these awkward things ?

I think you have to put it down to speculation. The recent trend for non vowel LLLL is aimed at the Chinese market who have been actively buying.

Chinese buyers are not only actively buying but literally harvesting the market.
LLLLs also seem to have sensibly increased their value in the last 6-8 months and the trend doesn't seem to be changing at all.
As for BB&Co there are LLLLs listed but mainly pronounceable and brandable ones.
