question What is the best site to auction your domain and start the bidding low at $10? I've tried afternic and ebay but I get no views.

Nobody goes to my parked domain address, so I just need to know a good auction site where all domains are listed and people will be compelled to bid since it's worth $1k but only listed starting at $10.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Too bad idgafAboutReality.org took down their user auctions.

An auction for your domain won't get any action unless it's a strong name. I'm not sure where you got the $1k valuation, but if it's not getting any views/interest then it's probably not a strong name.

Feel free to share the name if you want some additional advice/guidance.

I have five domains appraised by godaddy - I know godaddy might err on the higher side - however I know they're worth more than the $15 base for a domain. I would even sell to a wholesaler as a lot.

Most names that Godaddy appraises at <$1000 are not a smart choice for beginners.

playpianodvd.com -- DVDs unfortunately are swiftly becoming obsolete.

Godaddy doesn't err on the higher side, they're blindly wrong in both directions.

But 99% of the time anything appraised under $1k is literal junk.

Unfortunately these names fall in that category.

You can't start an auction on Afternic. This feature does not exist.

Those are definitely not $1K value domains. You'll be hard-pressed to even sell them for $10 each, and I suspect most domainers here would not pay anything for them.

I know that's hard to hear, but if it makes you feel better, we all heard something similar when we first started with domain names.

Do not put any faith in automated appraisals. None. Before you purchase more names, take your time and do some reading here.

FreePianoTutorials has some promise but not in what you're hoping for.

For people being "compelled" to bid usually a few scenarios:

- The name is naturally compelling
- There is a current wave towards the kind of name even if it's shit
- Expired marketplace catches, where someone bids and others are like "oh, someone bid so must I"

A good pulse is right here on NP, via Domain Auctions.

Auctions are a great place to pick up domains... cheap.

That's where you buy domains at wholesale, not try to sell for a profit. To answer your question though, Sedo seems to be one of the better sites as well as Godaddy auctions. But don't expect any of those names to sell.

These are the types of domains you want as an investor:

PianoLessons.com
PlayPiano.com
PianoKing.com

These might sell for $1000 at auction, but why bother? They are all 5-figure+ domains if you are patient.

I'd sell all five altogether for $300. If anyone wants them just comment or DM me.

I think I'd just register freepianotutorial.com for $7.99 instead.

Good luck!

You cant even start auctions on GoDaddy!
GoDaddy shut off starting domain auctions to their users.

Now based on feedback I'm contacting a laywer to see if I have standing to sue godaddy for deceptive ad practices making their customers think their domains are worth more than they are. Godaddy would know better and is trying to enrich themselves to dishonestly persuade their customers to sell on their website. Gonna send them a settlement offer and see how it goes. Now the price of all of my domains together is $150 - take it or leave it.

Godaddy does provide a disclaimer with every estimated valuation:

Beyond this, though, common sense should tell you that it would never be so easy to just buy anything for $10-$20 and flip it for hundreds or thousands. Always be suspicious of what looks like easy money.

Domain investing is like any other type of investing or endeavour; it takes time, effort, and informed decisions to make money over the long term.

Your own website is Probably the best auction site

For a low starting auction where it's only going to be seen by domainers? I would say Namepros, start at $1 you get no bids, your name is not worth much. Again in my opinion.

10% of the godaddy appraisal works for buying 4L.coms, dont know why it wouldnt work for your domains.

i predict GD wins the suit and judge assesses GD legal fees to the plaintiff.
