What do I need to buy a website?

New here and full of questions.

I would like to buy a website but am unsure as to the type of hosting package i will need. The requirements needed to run the script are as follows: Requirements

Linux OS
Apache web server with mod_rewrite module
.htaccess files support [http://www.tutorio.com/tutorial/enable-mod-rewrite-on-apache]
Perl higher than 5.007 version
Perl LWP module
MySQL database
DBI, DBD::mysql perl modules
GD lib, GD perl module (Optional)

I am wondering do i need a dedicated sever to run this or can i just get 4GH web hosting from godaddy? Thanks.

Are you trying to just purchase hosting for a domain name and build a website or are you trying to purchase hosting for an active website? If it's the latter, what hosting is the current website on?

Yes it's the latter. Not sure what hosting they are using though.

So you are buying a domain which already has hosting? Then why not simply open an account at the same hosting company as it is now? You could also ask the seller what kind of hosting he is using at that host.
