Hi all.

Now that we're all familiar with what Virtual Reality is, and it's potential value in so many industries (especially the domaining world), I'd like to hear your thoughts on what you think the top 20 VR dot-coms are?

Kindly share your opinions on the twenty absolute best VR dot-com domains that can possibly be owned by a domainer (in terms of resale value of course). No specific time-line for resale is applicable.

To be absolutely fair and unbiased, try to forget about the ones that you may already own, and imagine that none of the VR dot-com domains have yet been registered. So if you had your pick right from the very start (early to mid 1980's) knowing what you know today about the domain industry and how it has transformed and grown over the past decades, what would you choose as the very best 20?

As an example, off the top of my head I would list something in the lines of vrGaming.com somewhere in my list of 20 (I'm no expert though). On the other hand, I would stay away from vr37.com or 37vr.com as this only has one potential buyer. If I'm wrong, then I guess I've just proven my inexperience :). Don't get me wrong about the example I made, as I m sure that a few dollars is worth the risk, but remeber that nothing else has been taken yet and this is my top 20 list.

If possible, share your reasoning as well, so that fellow domainers (like myself) can learn a bit more about the "why" behind your opinions.

Thanks for taking the time to read and participate, I'm sure that like myself, many others will learn a lot from the answers and opinions shared.

Regards
Clint

Well for starters, I'd grab VR.com.

Off the top of my head (in no particular order):

VR.com/VirtualReality.com
ExperienceVR.com/VRExperiences.com
VRGames.com
VRTV.com
ImmersiveVR.com
VRApps.com
VRShop.com/VRStore.com
VRTech.com
VRHeadsets.com
LiveVR.com
VRNews.com
VRPorn.com/VRXXX.comVRSex.com
VRCasino.com/VRPoker.com/VRSlots.com
TravelVR.com/VRTravel.com
VRVideos.com
MedicalVR.com
360VR.com
VRFX.com
MVR.com
MobileVR.com

Based solely on what stuck out in my memory as high value keyword/fundamental terms.

There's probably another 20-30 that could go in this list, that are of similar value, IMO.

I still believe that VR + abbreviations and reverse would be a good bet instead of the usual keyword + VR and reverse. why?

Because you'd be hedging your bet because the Chinese are inching ever close to 5L.com's anyways.
And there seems to be some registrations of VR 5L.com's specifically ones that don't have vowels i,e,o,u and also consonants V but since it is VR a market has grown with 5L.com's that have VR in it.

It's like a "Perfect Storm" of demand for Chinese Premium 5L.com's that contain VR (mostly Chinese speculators) and VR domain hype. I doubt Chinese investors would buy a Keyword + VR but 1-3 letters? plus VR? I bet a Chinese investor would start to salivate and pull out his MSG and Chopsticks!

but that's my 2 cents. I'm sure some guru will shoot me down soon. in 5,4,3,2,1............ lol

@GuoYongan (an employee at domain cn) is of the opinion that the Chinese market is already finding the "vr" domains "hot", but says that they prefer the "vr" after the domain name (eg. abcVR.com). see comment here.

Thank you for clarifying GuoYongan. Would you say in your opinion that numbers are preferred over letters (eg. 123vr.com instead of abcvr.com)?

Thank you for the update GuoYongan, Again I would have made a really bad decision buying a bunch of numeric "vr" dot-coms as opposed to letters :guilty: keep up the great work.

I think the one exception has to be VR888.com and 888VR.com

and

999VR.com
VR999.com

all of which taken by someone in China since 2014.

vr888.com since 2012!

I must admit, I would most likely have added the "888" and the "88" and "8" (somewhere in my top 20) if they were available, despite advice from experts (although this stubbornness usually gets me into trouble).
