Hi all.

Now that we're all familiar with what Virtual Reality is, and it's potential value in so many industries (especially the domaining world), I'd like to hear your thoughts on what you think the top 20 VR dot-coms are?

Kindly share your opinions on the twenty absolute best VR dot-com domains that can possibly be owned by a domainer (in terms of resale value of course). No specific time-line for resale is applicable.

To be absolutely fair and unbiased, try to forget about the ones that you may already own, and imagine that none of the VR dot-com domains have yet been registered. So if you had your pick right from the very start (early to mid 1980's) knowing what you know today about the domain industry and how it has transformed and grown over the past decades, what would you choose as the very best 20?

As an example, off the top of my head I would list something in the lines of vrGaming.com somewhere in my list of 20 (I'm no expert though). On the other hand, I would stay away from vr37.com or 37vr.com as this only has one potential buyer. If I'm wrong, then I guess I've just proven my inexperience :). Don't get me wrong about the example I made, as I m sure that a few dollars is worth the risk, but remeber that nothing else has been taken yet and this is my top 20 list.

If possible, share your reasoning as well, so that fellow domainers (like myself) can learn a bit more about the "why" behind your opinions.

Thanks for taking the time to read and participate, I'm sure that like myself, many others will learn a lot from the answers and opinions shared.

Regards
Clint

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Off the top of my head (in no particular order):

VR.com/VirtualReality.com
ExperienceVR.com/VRExperiences.com
VRGames.com
VRTV.com
ImmersiveVR.com
VRApps.com
VRShop.com/VRStore.com
VRTech.com
VRHeadsets.com
LiveVR.com
VRNews.com
VRPorn.com/VRXXX.comVRSex.com
VRCasino.com/VRPoker.com/VRSlots.com
TravelVR.com/VRTravel.com
VRVideos.com
MedicalVR.com
360VR.com
VRFX.com
MVR.com
MobileVR.com

Based solely on what stuck out in my memory as high value keyword/fundamental terms.

There's probably another 20-30 that could go in this list, that are of similar value, IMO.

Well for starters, I'd grab VR.com.

I believe top domain in this sector is VRGames.com which is owned by inventor of VR since 1995.

Warren Robinett is computer graphic designer who worked for NASA. Check his website, VRGames.com has also redirected to his own page.

I still believe that VR + abbreviations and reverse would be a good bet instead of the usual keyword + VR and reverse. why?

Because you'd be hedging your bet because the Chinese are inching ever close to 5L.com's anyways.
And there seems to be some registrations of VR 5L.com's specifically ones that don't have vowels i,e,o,u and also consonants V but since it is VR a market has grown with 5L.com's that have VR in it.

It's like a "Perfect Storm" of demand for Chinese Premium 5L.com's that contain VR (mostly Chinese speculators) and VR domain hype. I doubt Chinese investors would buy a Keyword + VR but 1-3 letters? plus VR? I bet a Chinese investor would start to salivate and pull out his MSG and Chopsticks!

but that's my 2 cents. I'm sure some guru will shoot me down soon. in 5,4,3,2,1............ lol
@GuoYongan (an employee at domain cn) is of the opinion that the Chinese market is already finding the "vr" domains "hot", but says that they prefer the "vr" after the domain name (eg. abcVR.com). see comment here.

Thank you for clarifying GuoYongan. Would you say in your opinion that numbers are preferred over letters (eg. 123vr.com instead of abcvr.com)?

As an example, off the top of my head I would list something in the lines of vrGaming.com somewhere in my list of 20 (I'm no expert though). On the other hand, I would stay away from vr37.com or 37vr.com as this only has one potential buyer. If I'm wrong, then I guess I've just proven my inexperience :)

Poor example and yes, you are wrong :).

Thank you for the update GuoYongan, Again I would have made a really bad decision buying a bunch of numeric "vr" dot-coms as opposed to letters :guilty: keep up the great work.

The questions you ask are asking bit too broad. Hence making the answers you receive too broad to be able to make proper decisions that are as broad and limiting. Answers are great but answers without data points are honestly, just opinions. I have the largest single collection of VR numerics VRNN+NNVR. Majority of which are premiums in American numerology and Chinese. I also have a very large collection of 5 character VRNNN+NNNVR which includes names like 777VR + VR777 I've analyzed and audited the entire namespace of 4-5 character VR numerics. I also have a large portfolio of short 4-5 character Letter only VR domains as wells with metrics on all.

That said. Going by traffic, traffic sources, persons and interest and.offers I've received I can tell you that buying numerics was/is no mistake by any stretch of the imagination Chinese or otherwise. Just as buying short 4-5 letter wasn't and isn't a bad investment Chinese or otherwise. And It really doesn't make sense to compare the 2... apples and oranges. They are 2 different animals which requires the deployment of different strategies. Different people and company have different needs in a name.

just my 2 cents. Welcome to the forum.

Wow the thread Nazis are here ...... why wouldn't posting an acronym option be relevant ?????

Please contact me if you wish to discuss why it would be reported that members are advertising their own names in a thread that is not a sales area or showcase.

Many thanks

I think the one exception has to be VR888.com and 888VR.com

and

999VR.com
VR999.com

all of which taken by someone in China since 2014.

vr888.com since 2012!

aside from obvious cool keywords which don't really need a thread of their own imo

I'd love to have just a collectoin of all alphabet letter VR+letter 3l.coms.. so just about 25 doamins..

vra
vrb
vrc
vrd.....

this little collection for its absoljutele uniqueness and rarity (like a full series of louis XIV coins or something from his period) woudl fetch pretty coin today. and that'll probably go Xfold in value in 5-10 next years.

VRFun maybe one of the top domains.

I think people underestimate the keyword 'art'

'vr art' brings more search results than any keyword with VR I've come across.

•••
I think HomeVirtualReality or HomeVR & VRroom or VirtualRealityRoom
