What are all these likes about, might limit them

Why do I get likes just for saying high to new people, or other obscure posts, at first I thought hey people liked my post glad I could help, but now I know I could have posted the sky is black and I would get likes, inevitably I will get likes here so do people really like this post or just on a mutual like parade. Hope I didn't offend anyone but really want a true opinion of my posts.
Whats the threshold if you get over 5 likes than someone really liked it or what? Maybe a limit per month would help for new people 20, established members 50 etc.

Lol... sorry - it was too tempting not to click "like" on this post. Not cos I like/agree with it but bcos I thought it was funny. :)

I often dish out likes on posts that I find funny or that made me smile....irrespective if I agree with the comment or not.

Off course there are times when I actually like the comment....

When it comes to people welcoming other members...I click like because I think it's shows good community spirit when existing members take the time to welcome new members.

Just my 2 cents though.. :)

(Don't forget to like my comment - I clicked like on yours....bwhwhahhaahah just kidding ;))

deez I get what your are saying now about welcoming other people, maybe I should close this thread, but there were some I couldn't figure out for the life of me why someone would click like on them. . I do like a limited supply of likes so they wouldn't be handed out like candy.Guess I can kiss my likes goodbye after this.

I think it might come down to human psychology. Many people have this constant need for approval, for people to like them or always looking for someones "approval" - Perhaps they get the idea that randomly liking someones posts all the time.. might make that person like them... so they get that persons "approval" ...

Lol I don't know...i'm just considering the possibilities here... :)
