So doing my cardio yesterday, and got a message from a domain seller with whom I initiated the discussion about casino.cool domain name something like a year ago. At that time, they wanted a higher price which was no bargain to me, but after a year, they accepted my initial price offer (which was, honestly, pretty much law ball)

TLDR: I just purchased CASINO.COOL for less than 1K!

What a time to be alive!

But, and to be honest ... as I stated multiple times on this forum ... do not let your best assets go cheap. While I do understand that many of you do not yet understand the value of good new domain names, some names simply scream quality! Do not sell them to guys like me who already have enough, hold something good for yourselves as well!

And what do you think guys? Am I getting value, or is the seller getting value exchanging a name like this for a little bit of money, which are being printed now each and every day anyway? :) Share your honest, 2021, opinion!

Just curious. Have you ever sold any domain?
Do you mean domain for money, aka $$$? But they PRINT money now rapidly, so why would I do that? :xf.wink:

Casino followed by the word cool doesn’t even sound good let alone make sense.

That’s just the reality.

Online casinos are generally well funded and want a very good name. So I suppose your market might be a low end casino that doesn’t have money to burn.
Wroooooong!

Reg fee domain. Nothing special - 'cos of the extension. I can even dash a list with thousands of such domains at reg fee.
No, you definitely can't ...

FYI, there's a horse by that name, sired by a 3 time world champion.

The horse is worth a pretty penny ;)
Did not know that @CraigD , I will search it. Thank you :)

well when u sell this for whatever amount u will also get the same type of money that's printed every day.. lol

I appreciate your enthusiasm but its bordering fortitude that u made killer deal and guaranteed roi...I mean this isn't some cool .com... its just a top keyword with crap extension basically.. I own bitcoins.,.,gdn

so what ...its not selling

frankly if I sold someone this name for 1k I'd be jumping joy...even if it's that money printed every day heheh
Most people like dollhairs @alcy , I am aware of that :) But consider that we have hidden hyperinflation atm, particularly when it comes to financial assets. Prices of everything (real estate, domain names, stocks, crypto, etc) are going up, rapidly.

If you work for money, or will be saving money (aka USD), you become poorer and poorer in time...Money becomes a depreciating liability, basically. So you need assets.

Btw, bitcoins ...gdn is a pretty bad one, drop it. Even in the singular form, I would not invest in it in .gdn ... I do not feel this extension at all (my personal opinion only).

Generally speaking it's a poor name and on face value wont sell, or for very little.

Stepping away from "face value" and "professional comments and evaluations", the proof is simply in the sales history. Casino in every extension possible has been sold for 3 or 4 figures, more for good ones.

casino.ro - $253K - 2018-10-09
casino.online - $201K - 2017-03-22
casino.buzz - $20K - 2020-04-24
casino.co.jp - $20K - 2017-06-23
casino.uk.com - $14K - 2016-06-12
casino.live - $5K - 2016-02-18
casino.co.ke - $5K - 2017-06-13
casino.sv - $4K - 2019-03-06

Some are obviously nicer names not being .cool extension, like with .live and .buzz. But some are equally rubbish like .sv and some are not even top level like uk.com etc.

Not saying a value for casino.cool, it's a total gamble if it'll sell or if no more then low 3 figures. I'd have definitely bought it for very low $$$ or $$ but no more.

Sometimes a little gamble is worth it, I bought "corporate.casino", which wasn't hugely expensive..
.buzz is better then .cool or .cool is better then .buzz - statements like this are highly subjective

corporate / casino not bad, but .casino is approx $130-$150 when it comes to yearly renewal fee at most registrars. You will have to pay this each year for your name.

On the other hand, my domain in .cool is approx $5-$7 / year at some Asian registrars. So... it is 20 times cheaper when it comes to renewals, while it is probably 10 times better when it comes to reselling value.

corporate / casino vs casino / cool is therefore something like 1:200

I hope that helps :)

I agree! It is a great time to be alive and involved in domaining. Sometimes you just gotta go for it.

So I dont love the name, but I think it has a better chance than some people here think.

Casino names follow the Casino + "word" naming structure pretty often (Casino Royale, Casino Arizona, etc)

Casino Cool doesn't sound quite right, but hey, its a global market, someone out there might think it is the perfect name.
Thanks Grego! :)

With Las Vegas heating-up faster than any city in the US, Casino.Cool would be a great domain, and/or ad campaign, for the Nevada Tourism board to showcase what (carbon-offsets) the state and casinos are doing to keep things cool... as news of heat related deaths increase.
Lol, did not think about it from this perspective at all :) Thank you.

I wasn't comparing TLDs but "casino" keyword amongst them. A lot of domain discussions are subjective, but sometimes there's common sense amongst it.

casino.cool
VS
casino.buzz

buzz is better here as the two words make a phrase. "Casino Buzz" has meaning and even good grammar. "Casino cool" is not grammatically correct and has no real meaning.

:)

On the fun side, be it tacky, classy or flashy everybody goes to casinos dressed in their version of cool.

"Casino Cool" is a fashion. An iconic dress-culture, on-stage and off. A video montage would be classic.

Lol, did not think about it from this perspective at all :) Thank you.

Thought this was going to be a thread for share those domains you can't quite believe you got for the price you did.

Anyways, literally a cool domain. Congrats.

hi

It's difficult to say. The reality is that a domain may be very valuable for a couple of people and have no value for the vast majority. It depends on what it's going to be used for I suppose.

Good Luck with it. I hope you make a good profit though!

Regards

Hard to tell.

I personally don't think it worths the reg. fee. and I wouldn't buy that domain.

But on the other hand there is already 2 people who have been interested in this domain name. 1st the guy who hand. reg.ed the domain, and than lolwarrior who bought the domain from aftermarket...

There is no reason to assume that there won't be a 3rd or 4th owner for that name, if it's priced right for the potential buyer.

Where this guy lolwarrior / brands.international had problems was with unsubstantiated claims that were in fact sometimes positively contradicted by evidence that he was making up or inflating sales. Such as in his dot live thread. Otherwise, no one gave him a hard time.

Such as here:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/af...d-my-whole-live-portfolio-until-2025.1136623/

To his credit, this thread is truthfully about buying the domain not already claiming to have sold it.

Maybe not the best practice to take a quote from my (sarcastic) replay from one thread and put it without relevant reference and context in another, 1-year-old thread, as you just did, just to feel that you are right.

Anyway, when it comes to online behavior, you do you, and I do me :)

Thanks, Ahmet, friend .. it is nice to interact after a while :)

Well, the pricing is now around 200k - I know what most here would say - as one of my friends said recently when checked my pricing "once at brands.international, always at brands.international" - but I rather keep it, than sell for few bucks!

Because when it comes to money, they are PRINTING them now at unprecedented speed...everyone should remember that

I didn't even know .cool existed. I would probably not even register it if I found it on a list of available handregistrations.

That said, I don't spend much time with ngtlds.

I like the domain b.cool. Just checked and it is re-directing to a company called Blaser dot com.

No idea why. But hey, pretty .cool right?

Well, it's a good keyword, also all these people bringing up namebio as if every domain marketplace reports sale and as if private sales don't occur.

It is always nice to read Brands International actively posting about his personal investments - I just think had he been a native of an English speaking country his investments may well have been better at identifying the 'cohesiveness' of word pairing and its application in the English language.

I do admire the guy for his constructive posts of late, sharing his beliefs (And Not the old Ntld promotional garbage) I just wish he had been Brit Born, He would have been a darn good mind to work with.

Casino dot cool = anything over $50 was overpay to my mind.
