Recently , well a month ago I contacted an enduser who's a founder of a app related company. He's the founder himself , the company has 40k likes on facebook.

I gave him a higher price but a week later he came with a lower offer and said he wanted to buy it for this price . 4 days later I emailed him back accepting his offer but got no reply.I emailed again a week later and then another week but still no reply.

I checked his linkedin and some years ago he was also a domain investor/flipper .What I hate is that he just moved away from the deal without confirming if he still wants to buy or not.

The domain is 100% related to their business.

I have his gmail(we agreed to a price), this time I'm tracking the email using streak and if he views it and doesn't respond then I'll just move on :)

He's definitely viewed it. Silence is the most powerful negotiation tactic.

Lesson I learnt in this business: Until money is deposited in my bank account, take it easy. So many failed payments, so many no-responses after agreeing and so many quotes without replies.

Ex. someone recently quoted $20,000 (through DNS) and put following message - "please call me".

During phone conversation, he said "money is not important but I will intimate later"

No call - no reply to mail. Take it easy.

These days low $xxx in the domain business mean nothing. The buyer is not aware of it, or as Shane stated.... I would list it on Sedo or GD with $x,xxx fixed price and next time he contact you, send him link to the listing. You have got nothing to loose (unless low $xxx is jackpot for you)

Good luck tho :)

Its part of the business.

Do you have an email tracker like google "streak" to actually see if he opened up the email? We had something similar happen to us but didn't really panic because we saw the person WAS opening the email and within a few days he wrote back and were working on closing the deal.

Make sure you have some type of email tracker hooked up to your account if you are using email as a primary way to reach people.

The domain is 100% related to their business.

You should have just waited for them to contact you. Now the ball is in their court, and for hundreds of dollars instead of thousands. They aren't going to jump to action because they know that they can get their own domain for a few hundred dollars or they can just file a UDRP (if there is a TM) and get the domain for $1500 based on your non-use and attempted sale.

I gave him a higher price but a week later he came with a lower offer and said he wanted to buy it for this price . 4 days later I emailed him back accepting his offer but got no reply.

It's hard to play this situation right. In most negotiations you never take their first offer, especially if you quoted them at a higher price. Businesses almost always expect you to negotiate, but not to fold and accept their first offer.

On the other hand; you can accept their offer, they will pay, and both parties are fine with that.

Every person is different, and every transaction is different - it's just a part of this industry.

Wait until you get the person who will take the process all the way to escrow, and then bail on your deal.

I would keep calm and do other things. Come back to it in a few days. You may see they opened it up a few times since you have it tracked now...

If not, you can send them an email in about a week to see what's up. Don't be scared to "push them away". If they want the domain they will eventually answer. If they don't, they wont. And there really isn't anything you can do about it. That's stuff that I am learning now.

also that guy used to sell domain names in his teens and has been mentioned on other websites.

So he knows what he is doing then. ;)

Or maybe he doesn't. Do not over think it.
