I've been using this site tester and my site seem to run slow at 28 second to load. Seems my old server was about 14 seconds, should i be concerned?

28 seconds is a bit long...

Too slow, this is a factor Google takes into account with ranking plus a lot of people will probably hit the back button. Look for a new host and see what you can do to get the size of the page down.

Before finding a new provider, contact your current one and give them a chance to rectify the issue for you. If they cannot help, then look into taking your business elsewhere

I think you need to use various tools. Also ask people on the forums from different regions to do ping for you and test.
What size your web site has?

Very important thing, first of all for the visitors. Less important for SEO, however if server responds too slow, search engine bot may get away

That is extremely slow, it should be no longer than 1-3 seconds or your visitors may leave. Which host are you currently hosted with?

I thin that the time of load also depends on the weight of the page.

Hello,

As some have said it greatly depends on the weight of your website. If you're using a script of some sort it could be due to bad coding or a high number of http requests. However, in any case 28 seconds is very slow.

Regards,
Jack

Even 3 seconds is less than ideal...

Well now... It took me 9+ seconds to load this very thread's page with the server being some 8000 kilometers away. Location and the actual web page do matter. Not all pages are just an HTML file. In fact, these days, most aren't, and will take 3 seconds or more to load, especially if you're not living in the US where most (popular) sites tend to be hosted.

That being said, 28 seconds is indeed quite long for someone to wait, and if the server's location didn't change much, it is a sign that either connectivity is poor, or, more likely, that the server is not working as it should.

28 seconds if for the whole site, not just the first page.

It was 'unlimited' reseller account. I've upgraded to a 'business account' that the support say will be twice as fast, with coupon it was only $100 for the year.
Will let you know how it goes in a week or two and hopefully reveal who this great(or not so great)_ hosting company is (ph)

Is the business account with the same company or a different company?

28 seconds is definitely too long. Try using Page Speed (from Google) to see what's really slowing you down.

In any case if you are not satisfied with the services you get from the web hosting company you can change it.

I agree with you. But that could happen on other web host as well. So you need to be 100% sure that is because of the web host before start looking for the new one.

cancel the account. it was really bad. locked up very slow, dumb ass support no understand nothing.

You are right there are so many bad hosting companies best to test it real quick and not waste too much time like i did.

Problem with these cheap ass hosting companies is they are just fishing for easy customers ie customer with no web site, just 3 pages html and some low rest images, perfect $2.99 a month a i'm be rich! all as in need is 10,000 lemmings like this.

Sorry to hear that they were unable to help you with this. Out of curiosity, who was the provider?
