A good page speed for SEO is three seconds or less. A page load time of up to four seconds is acceptable, but a page load time over four seconds is considered slow.

Here are some reasons why page speed is important for SEO:

User experience: Faster websites create a better user experience, which search engines want to promote.

Google's algorithm: Google uses site speed in its algorithm to rank high-speed sites over slow-loading ones.

Attention span: Most people don't have an attention span of more than a couple of seconds, so if a page takes longer than three seconds to load, most people will leave.

Lower Bounce Rates: Pages that load quickly reduce bounce rates, meaning users stay longer on the site. A high bounce rate can signal to search engines that a page is not providing relevant content or a good experience, which can hurt rankings.

Improves Conversion Rates: A faster website can lead to better conversions, as users are more likely to engage with content or make a purchase if the page loads quickly.

As an essential element of SEO, page speed impacts user experience, ranking performance, and customer conversion. If a website takes too long to load, it frustrates visitors which results in disengagement. However, a fast website can keep users satisfied, helps with navigation as well as improves engagement.

Websites that fetch data quickly have a greater probability of ranking at the top, and this earns them a lot of traffic. Now that Google is focusing on providing users with the best experience, faster page speed can help rank web pages on search engines easily. Undoubtedly, page speed is a critical factor influencing page rank, especially for mobile users.

Page speed can also make or break business conversion rates: one second's delay can lead to reduced conversions and drop in customer satisfaction level. Websites that load faster enable users to explore more pages, content, and take action like filling forms or purchasing seamless.

Businesses should implement measures of optimizing their page speed like compressing images, enabling browser caching, reducing server response time, and eliminating useless scripts. Improving a websites speed enhances the experience a user has on the site while attracting more visitors and propelling better business outcomes.

This is literally the first thing you learn when learning technical SEO. It's kind of obvious stuff, but sometimes you can still find website owners who don't pay attention to it. To hell with google algorithms, it's literally aesthetically unpleasant when a site or content takes longer than 3 seconds to load.
