All domain forums have a rule as to not allow comments in sales threads.

But as it seems sellers also do not totally inform potential buyers, there are some who want certain comments.

So vote yes or no for NON derogatory, pertinent info comments in sales threads

What is not covered in the vote is appraisal comments in a sales thread or wow that's a great domain wish I had $$$

Ray, I just dropped you a PM, but I would like to see potential sellers be required to list the following information so potential buyers don't have to ask for it and wait for the seller to get back to us.

This is common information that should be shared in every domain transaction. Requiring it up front should reduce needless replies and make it easier to evaluate names. The net effect of that will be increased traffic to the .tv marketplace, increased offer amounts, and more sales. By keeping the same transparency we expect from Verisign, we will encourage more people to get involved in this .tv forum.

===========================

DOMAIN DETAILS
Domain Name
Renewal Fee
Current Registrar (this is relevant to a potential buyer that may not want to pay a transfer fee and hopes to have the domain pushed to his account)
Price

MONTHLY TRAFFIC / REVENUE (if any)
Traffic
Clicks
CTR
Parking Company

Any other relevant information

============================

So for example, under the above requirements, an ad would look like this:

Name: MyDomain.tv
Renewal Fee: $500 / year
Current Registrar: eNom

Price: $5,000 or best offer

Traffic: 150 Uniques
Clicks: 50 Clicks
CTR: 33%
Revenues: $15.75
Parking Company: Sedo Pro

Domain previously parked with xxx parking company 60 days ago. Revenue was slightly lower. Can provide verifying screenshots upon request.

That is going to be added to the rules to Kevin

registrar

Someone only has to disclose traffic if they are selling or mentioning traffic in the sales thread. IF no mention I believe assume no traffic for the domain.

One more thought is that if a seller states traffic, then verifying screen shots should be posted. If I recall, this is required in the regular forum. That is the next logical question if a seller claims some decent traffic and revenue stats. The only other thing I can think of is whether a potential seller is open to pointing the dns for 7 days to verify the traffic claimed by the seller. This is common when traffic and revenue stats are very high so this second part may not be as relevant.

it said the poll is closed :( but i will vote yes when it is open :)

i can see how remarks can get out of hand, but questions pertaining to the name- traffic, meaning, backlinks, blah- i think that stuff should be in the thread so everyone gets the same info about the domain all in one shot- by asking about say, traffic, and it is posted, 10 other people do not have to ask- there it is-

it is probably my fault all this is happening and rays post in the sales area- i made a comment in a sales thread- i thought it was more of a help because it was clarifying a meaning, but it was a comment. i apologize for all this ;-(

i just have dealt with people who try and do things all in pm, and do not give everyone the same info, and it just seems best to have it all open so you know what you are buying- just questions that pertain to the name-
no "nice name" stuff :)

I don't see this as an issue, save for the derogatory comments when someone is trying to sell something. Frankly, I don't see the harm in positive comments, sometimes I will pop in and say something like, "You know what, that whateveritis dot tv is a really great name, it's a good value." Now, okay, that's not necessary, but is it really hurting anything?
