Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Ahh nice. Word of advice, I wouldn't share the name until it's in my account.
Its sn bro not gd. Sn already owns the name and they do the auction after they own it. Old owner cant renew it.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with your logic. If somebody wants the words "JesusChrist" in the domain name for their church or whatever there is an infinite variations that they can use:

JesusChrist.com
JesusChristChurch.com
JesusChristMessiah.com
OurLordJesusChrist.com....and so on.

If you want a domain for your VR experience about Jesus than there is very few good domains you can choose from. JesusChristVr being the best one. It's a question of supply and demand. You can't just take a keyword from one context and assume it will have the same value in a completely different context.

That's like saying football.com is worth less than ball.com.

You are not reading me correct.
If I want to know the potential value of vrfootball.com as in how much money is in the field for play...

I would look at football as a keyword to see how broad and deep the market is.
And we can easily see that a lot of money has been spent in the field and will likely have a complimenting effect to VRfootball.

But if I were to say VRtetherball,
tetherball has nowhere near the money in background and I could expect the same for VRtetherball. If you want to change that fact, you will need some new facts to prove it.
It is a way to gauge the available money and competition for it. Without money and competition, it has no value.

If I look-up sales for keyword sex, porn and xxx I will see tremendous money in those fields both broad and deep (number of and amount)
and they are media names in fact.
So if VR is a media changing tech, than it would make sense that VRSEX VRPORN VRXXX are going to have a very high value. You can justify a very high asking price and probably get it.

Not VRsink,VRtable and VRchair

VRporn & VRporno sold a few months ago for 5k ea and I'm sure it will be flipped several more times in the next 3 years and has the potential for 7 figures. I can base that on keyword sales history. Not some imaginary gut feeling.

You really can not argue with this logic even though it is not completely accurate, it is the closest you can get to a set of facts to sell names at a higher than a hand reg price. So why are most of you not buying them that way?

I'm not arguing with that at all. I totally agree with that. That is the reason I got as many porn domains as I could. It just seemed to me you had a bit of a limited imagination about what sort of venues the VR will be able to open up. For example:

I registered WW2VR and WorldWar2VR.com

Today "World War 2" isn't really big business. I mean it's probably THE historical event people find most fascinating and there are a range of niche sites about various World War 2 related things. But there isn't really any big bucks in it.

Now VR comes along. All of the sudden there is a way to put people INSIDE the most fascinating period of human history in the form of games, experiences, series, movies...etc. The way I see it the monetizing potential is HUGE.

That's why I also think JesusChristVR is a great domain. A film like Passion of the Christ made $600 million. Imagine being AT the last supper, in VR. To me it's obvious that somebody sooner or later will want to do VR on the topic of JesusChrist. Are they gonna go for the JesusChristVR domain? I have no idea. But I still think it's a good domain.

I think you are comparing apples with pears when you put a value on JesusChristVR based on previous Jesus sales.

And yes, I also think we need to research the market and that alot of regs are very far fetched with no possibility for monetization. I agree with you on that. :)

all domains that contain keywords related to optical technology are potential brands or developments relating to virtual reality headsets, I have long been looking for something like this and I have it, we continue with the hunt, there are still interesting things if you're fast

I think I'm going to stop posting in this thread, increasingly makes less sense, it has been a pleasure meeting many and a big mistake talking to a few, see you in DNJournal sales page.

How can you equate the grossing of a film with domain valuation?
Who is comparing apples and pairs?
They bought whatever name they needed for the film way before you knew it was going to be released. I see no other connection.

A lot of folks have a interest on what is on MARS but I don't see that translating into domain sales in any big way. There certainly is a lot of reading on the subject though. Especially news at nasa. And while nasa is working on building vr imagery from the rover, I can't see that translating into any great domain sales either.

Interest is a factor, and where do you measure that interest if not sales dollars in names/keywords?
It also tells you how much baseline money there is to buy said names.

I said, based on the previous sales in keyword of jesuschrist, there was little money or competition for the words. Adding new keywords (VR) to them helps little if any to change it's marketability or value from those keyword sales . The available market $ there is "soft". Very little market gain available. No competition.

You can't pump water from a empty well.

You are letting you imagination take charge of your greed.
