Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Do you own or plan to buy a headset? I got mine earlier today and was amazed although there needs to be higher quality content but i suppose the water is boiling now.

Why easyJet is banking on VR, drones and 3D printing

EASYJET-INNOV+16.jpg

When you book a flight with a company like easyJet, it's usually for one of two reasons: you want the cheapest tickets possible, or it's the only airline operator flying to your destination. Nobody chooses easyJet for their in-flight entertainment, or the drinks and nibbles that are available while you're thousands of feet up in the air. But for the most part, that's okay. We're all looking for a deal, and provided the flight is on time and the seats aren't too uncomfortable, most of us are happy to forgo these luxuries in order to save some cash.

easyJet knows its business model well, and that's why it's exploring new technologies that can help with its day-to-day operations. These are projects that could make its commercial flights cheaper, more reliable and ultimately less stressful for customers. Some are designed for the public and clearly visible, but others are being developed behind closed doors to improve training, manufacturing and repairs. To explain some of its more experimental ideas, easyJet crammed them all into an aircraft hangar in Milan.

thanks, i saw my offers increase in number on godaddy auctions last year and sold 3-4 at $1k-$3k. There system was so messed up, still requires a user to join auctions marketplace to bid or make offers - so i never seemed to get a counter bid.

i think vr can really bring back the interaction people miss on social networks, virtually that is, at least in vr i have sense of your reaction, and reality of participation in a real event, or place.

i was in La last month working on our .LA project and the creative types are already setting up studios and teams to make content. Then the office space i'm using in LA has built a VR room, so i can take meetings with an Oculus VR, the new conference room amenity. just regd vrconferencerooms.com btw

Heres some more, was kinda fun to review my list

vrBaccarat.com
vrConferencing.com
vrTradeshow.com
VRSURVEILLANCE.COM
vrjudges.com - saves travel time to court.
vrhoneymoons.com

Again nice to meet you all, nice board.

E3 2015: Rebellion co-founder hints UK studio is developing VR game

rebellion-developments-logo-games.png

All screen-based media (including TV and cinema, not just games) have had to use a design language that tells the viewer how to feel, and we've been honing this language for decades. Virtual reality wipes this rulebook clean. For example, in a traditional video game, developers have to use certain visual techniques to indicate how close enemies are, or whether you need to evade incoming weapons fire. However in a virtual world, you'll be able to almost feel this with your senses. For example, the enemy fire will appear to whistle right past your head, while you instinctively react to movements and actions in your peripheral vision, just like you would in real life. You're no longer looking into a world, you are part of the world. As players, we'll be able to react physically and emotionally in a much more natural way.

What will be really interesting about seeing this in action at E3 next week, will be comparing the experiences across mobile, console and headsets.

Virtual reality gaming will cross the hardware divide so it won't simply be the playability factor that will determine future success. Headsets need to have solved the issues surrounding motion sickness, physical space awareness and how people look when wearing one in front of their mates.

However, virtual reality gaming may be better suited to a greater range of abilities and interests. Traditional gamers have learnt through years of gaming how to stare straight at the screen and let their thumbs invoke movement. Inexperienced gamers driving a racing car for example, will always 'turn' the controller when steering or 'flick' the controller up to jump. In a virtual environment, these movements will enhance game-play and allow the user to look around more and gain a greater sense of wonderment at the virtual world they're immersed in.

See, it's not just developers that have had to unlearn everything for virtual reality. Gamers will have to as well and it's something I'm going to try hard to remember in LA next week.
