Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Ahaha. thought I had gotten really lucky couple days ago and hand-registered InsideVR.com -- well turns out it was InsiderVR.com. Thanks to the coupon codes not a massive loss (if any, as the actually regged domain is propably not completely worthless).. but had already ideas for the InsideVR domain :D

Not heard much on hyperreality but these show quite a bit of existence looking at google searches.

Particularly Hyper Reality TV

Hope these are ok, any thoughts?

Well. Shit happens...

A couple of days ago i received a $200 offer for VRPorno.es.

I countered with $500. Today i get a message he is only willing to pay $200. Low baller. This kind of guys telling along the road of the deal i must also pay for escrow fees haha funny. Then it will be $200 minus the escrow fees $15? minus the commission fee 10%? minus domain registration fees $10, and finaly the bad dollar to euro banking rates... After all the bullshit/emailing/time/work i am left with a $100 worth a couple of grocery bags... not buying it...

Hmm I'm into this a fair amount on the tech side and haven't heard the phrase before.

Still, by renewal time you'll know whether this is a thing or not. Good luck!

I agree with everything said about VR being the stronger contender.

Maybe AR will be a big thing one day but, by that time, we (the VR people) will be too late and too busy, enjoying our VR earnings. :lookaround:

"Augmented Reality" is simply to much of a mouthful to be a popular catchphrase. IMHO.

That's why the term "Augmented Reality" is truncated down to 'AR' when referred to, making AR the candidate of choice when selecting AR domains because of trending VR domain sales. Since there have been no sales of AR domains, we don't even know if it will go that way at all. Currently, the term "AR" has been used with every single article I've read on the subject, so I'm certain it will be the norm.

We all discussed this just a few weeks ago: VR is today, AR is tomorrow.

Even for VR it will take one to two more years before the market grows big enough to be something worth while and before enough companies adepting products, services and customers buying. Ofcourse, with the launch of the headsets there will be a sales surge.

I have registered all my VR domains from the beginning of this year. The renewal fees / profits / affiliate earnings i can handle it because excellent timing of investing.

But with AR it is a different story. You must have deep pockets for sitting a couple of years on your AR domains. A lot of expenses and no (short time) big profits. But at the end it must pay off. High risk but still a better option then buying stocks at a soon collapsing bubble market.

Unless a brand specific label gets mainstream traction, like holo for Hololens or mixed reality for Magic Leap.
Should be an exciting year.
