Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Stick to the original, vr+Keyword. I'm guessing each alternate route you take with the wording of the domain, affects the value.

so I'm curious

I guess it won't matter 10 yrs down road.. everything VR will be worth loads.. but til then.. how much of a value difference can we expect between:

VR+keyword
virtual+kw
virtualReality+kw

any views?

Pick the right combo of any and its $$$$ :)

To me "vr" sounds just so... awkward with consonants and even vowels.
Just listen: vre, vru, VRO!!!
So not English... (for Russian it sounds perfectly fine :D)

If you do not know what VR stands for, and Even if you know... That VRHDV as just a start (just a start, hah!) of domain name does not make any sense! Not to mention is there anyone on earth to pronounce it? Not to say to memorize it...
vrhdvideos
Take a look at this name. After abrakadabra the only thing I see is "ideos"... which I thought what a very well known word ;)

That's the case when Reality becomes so Virtual :xf.rolleyes:
IMHO

good point
however, for this to work you need to establish what is the original keyword.

and how or who established which of 3 is original?

good point.. but this is prolly one of them situations when the domain name (vr+keyword) value is not in its sound or proncounciation.. like other domains.. or brandables etc..

but I definitely agree.. virtual+kw.. or virtualreality+kw sound better.

mayeb this is a case of length then? it's gotta be a case of something

It can all be debated, due to there being a difference in opinion regarding all formalities.

well.. when hugodd says vr+kw = money, then this is hardly debatable. it's more like a fact... fact as in: he sold it so he knows it.

but I'll take his word on it.. that any of the 3 plus good keyword = money.

the fact remains that the order of availabiliy of things for handreg is:

vr.. least.
virtual
virtualreality

hence my question

a regged a few in each.
but when had choice to reg lesser quality vr one. I went for mucgh higher quality virtualreality one.

That's right. That what we, domainers and webmasters, are obsessed with - keywords.
But let us not forget about regular visitors, and what's the percentage of keyword-minded people vs. normal visitors to the website?

P.S. And rhetorical question: why did then Facebook started with facebook and not fb.com in the first place?

I strongly agree with him, hence all my domains being vr+keyword.

But not everyone is the same. Other domainers will do things differently and take different approaches when regging or acquiring domains and still find success.

That is why I standby what I said, it is debatable because some people have a difference in opinion, regardless what niche, trend, tactic. Lets just say, in general.

Probably just a waste of money, found a domain hack that's quite interesting for me.

VR Pla.net

Right so I bought some .UK domains that were surprisingly available and yes I did check the rights to them before I purchased.

vrsex.uk
sexvr.uk
pornvr.uk
vrporno.uk
pokervr.uk
casinovr.uk
vrbingo.uk
gamesvr.uk + gamesvr.co.uk

Have I done the right thing here or a waste of money? Any feedback appreciated on these.

dunno much about .uk.

when one day vr takes off for good it'll be worldwide.. so .ca or .uk won't matter.

nonetheless, I would personally still useup and invest .com as long as there are things left to grab. I guess they don't call it kingcom for nothing.

I think your uk keywords are great.
