Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

VR is amazing, and it's not even out yet. If you haven't tried it, it's hard for me to explain how immersed and "there" you are once you put this on. Game changer. No question. And lots of fun.

Does anybody here actually own a VR device... ?

Well is it a device..??

Lol, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hahaha, your video is hilarious, especially the moment she was holding on to her chair hahaha.

Nope. Because keywords.

just curious cause I'm bit new.. how do you go about deciding keyword value? someone here said before abotu checking previous sales.. 10k and up etc.. what if no previous sales etc.. or several.. or old dated...

do you just get quick idea about keyword value from say google instant results count? I know its not accurate but it sure gives relative idea about volumes

or do you use like keyword spy tools or things like estibot to check for relativfe things??

tnx

Not using any tools. I'll give an example to help explain what I mean. Let's say you own virtualrealitypoodles.com.

If someone is on a search engine looking for virtual reality poodles, he or she will likely type in "virtual reality poodles" into Google or other search engine. Since the domain name matches 100% to the search phrase, Google's brain will predict and conclude that the domain name is very likely to provide the user's search criteria.

wunderbar
thanks.

and then to apply poodle example the the other billion words would follow some general rule yes?

call me a poodle, but I see it not.

for instance, I registered keywords heart, body, nature.. recently.. for virtualreality.. thinking they are good.

I knew this from general knowledge and experience of my own. but also checked some volume searches here and there for those..

so to take your example.. just for relartive comparaisons.. using some tool.. if your poodle gets 30 million matches.. and "nature" gets 2 billion... which keyword is better and why? I'm not claiming I know trhe answer.. I'm just asking if you do

cheers

what about keyword planner?

what about keyword planner?

That's a standard... Unless you know already the metrics for some keywords (...after you use it every day...)

That's a good point. The longer a keyword is, or the more words you add to it, the more specific the "niche" is going to be.

Dog: huge potential
Dog food: two words, still big potential compared to above
Dry dog food: three words, still good potential compared to above
Canned dog food: three words, still good potential compared to above
Window dog food: also three words, but not much potential compared to above

The more words in a keyword phrase = the more the words need to "make sense" together.

For some domains/ keywords I use google trends
https://www.google.com/trends/

1zegguf.jpg

nice tool for relative checks etc.. I use it sometimes.. there is also keywordspy I use sometimes..

it's always good to know relative search volumes etc.

the quickest way to get an idea of that is probably jut typing into google search and seeing how many results you get back. it is not accurate or with much meaning other than to tell you that blu rays are more popular todya than vhs tapes type of thing..

I also check estibot values for keywords.. estibot has accurate figures for searches etc.. its not random.. whether the price it gives is random.. well.. that depends.. maybe someone can tell me..

i alwqays wondered if it tqakes into account past sale values..

as example:

estibot spits out
182k for poodle.com
and 1million for heart.com

I'm thinking it checks past sales if available.

no one recently said vrkeyword>keywordvr
as far as I remember

and no one probably said it outloud cause everyone knows it inside and goes without saying.

so I have a voting contest .. when you pick your vr keywords..

do you think business wise... do you think poetry.. do you think something else?

for instance.. vrheart is totally different from vrpayment.. different from vrsex.. different from vrimmortality.. different from vrcomputer..

is there some method to this madness or its just.. you know.. whatever....?

any takers on this?

Well it depends...
Mostly I use all available tools and methods.

My priorities:
  • would I start a business with this name/service/product?
  • fit the keywords good or perfectly together?
  • does the name rolls of the tongue?
  • past sales + metrics...
  • and in the end I listen to my heart :)
