Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

hope they won't be too much to do that :(

One of VR video's biggest film companies is dropping the term 'VR'

Vrse, the company behind some of the best-known virtual reality video, is dropping the "VR" moniker. Today, it announced a $12.56 million fundraising round and a new name: Within. With the change, it’s also planning to expand its scope beyond the documentary work that it’s primarily known for today, experimenting with fiction, interactivity, and other new elements.

I still maintain this news will create worldwide mass drops of vr domains.

hmm on my side i'm more skeptical about that, there is already too much ongoing with VR kw to create a mass drop on domain...anyway we will know it sooner enough.
Would be nice to have the point of view of pro domainers here about this news, but the thread is very quiet lately :) cheers

I was pulling your leg.
this is a worthless piece of news and info.
that changes nothing to anything.
it is like an elephant stepping on an ant.
let's not fool ourselves into thinking he feels a damn thing.

like u say, every company is welcome to do what they please with their names. there were others before them, and there sure will be others after them too..

I am sure discovering the name you want for your VR company/project/whatever is being sold by me or you for 1 million dollars can become a very motivating factor to getting your imagination going and trying to rename a dog to a cat.. or a cat to a dog.. but the rest of the world will still prefer to call a dog a dog.. and a cat a cat.

cheers

If anything it will create a massive "dump" of vr domains by already skidding vr domainers thereby perhaps having vr domainers with the best collection to rethink their pricing or target price goals.

Bad news always make "stocks" drop. Giving people looking for deals an opportunity to find great deals.

exactly.
might as well pay attention to what the big names and guys are doing
versus the tiny nonames (aka pawns) who need fundraisers to get their crap togerther
maahahaha.

yes.. except this is not bad news.
frankly, I'm not even sure why this is being reported as news period.
there were many others before who went this way... and many in future will go that way too. some for financial reasons, like I Said before.. and some out of sheer stupidity.
but this, like every other aspect of life or domaining, is not about what minorities do. but majorities. minorities do not set trends. but some like to think they do.

just cause some dude wakes up one morning and decides some term is used too much or hard to pronounce or boring to him.. is not enough to change the world ;)

I still maintain this news will create worldwide mass drops of vr domains.

It's not only that, some big VR domain names have gone/going up on auction sites recently. Is that people cashing out because they don't feel VR domains will be big as everyone hoped? People who are auctioning these names off won't admit it on here and will say its another reason they are selling, but does make you wonder.

I've always liked 'VRSE' as a name, but can understand the name change if it wants to expand into other areas at some point, said on here before there will be many companies involved in VR who will probably want to get involved in AR/MR at some point, so if your company is just called 'VR' something, it doesn't represent other technologies.

hmmm
well.. we do see here people selling some nice vr domains on auction now and then.. .if that's what your referign to (and if not, then what names do u talk about?)... but I hardly saw this as some desperate sellout before some crash or something.

in fact, I see exactly zero signs of what yuo are describing. and the thought wouldn't cross my mind unless you mentioned it.

that guy just woke up one morning and decided VR was too small for his big ego, and he wants to go to alpha centauri right away.. but he only has a ship to go to the moon.
well good luck with that then .. I guess we won't be seeing him for forever. which is a good thing. happy traveling. lol

There is already a verse.com for "immersive stories", was probably a phonetic confusion issue.

Keyword 'mobile' went for under $1k a month ago, is that down to the seller not knowing what they had or them thinking 'let me make some money while i still can' ? It's probably them not knowing the potential of what they had, because they could have got more for it either way.

'Games' - the keyword what many people think is the best keyword (or one of) sold in .net recently. Then yesterday, guy who owns 'immersive' says they are getting rid of that along with some other really good keywords, then 1 hour after i saw the post about that, i had a pm from someone saying 'experiences' is up for sale, now I'm reading about the VRSE name change.

Ftr i don't think people are cashing out or (in the VRSE case) thinking the VR abbreviation isn't need, but I'd be lying if i said i haven't gone
m1703.gif
'what's going off here?' - Surely i can't be the only one?

It was Game not Games, I think the plural is much better in this case. Also the owner of VRGames dot com at least used to want six figures. Also you had inquired about the VR Experiences, which is the only reason why I sent the message, just to clarify that I'm not spamming :)

hmmm... lol
well.. I guess others can tell u if your the only one.
all I can say is that's not what I was thinking when those auctions were selling.
as far as I am concerned Virtual Reality as a tech is doing better than ever (literally lol) and is going nowhere but up and sky is the limit.. and as result of it, the potential for VR domains is also looking excellent....VR domains are but small subset of VR as revolution and as a tech.. but still closely connected with each other.. and we got tons of sales to domainers and endusers to show for it.

to be perfectly honest with you, even if there was some VR domain crash/globalRename coming, I doubt anyone around here is plugged in or connected well enough to know about this and be doing firesales beforehand. seriously. think about it. we're all VR newbies here. everyone the average joe blow (yes! includeing and especially those who claim otherwise lol)... who cares if you've domained for 50 years (I know I don't) and seen 143242343 other niches. this is brand new world. not the one your grandma lived in.

like you say, people can have feelings.. about future.. speculate.. etc.. so you gotta make sure you don't do business based on someone else's feelings. lol

anyway... drop them all if you dare. I'm still
