Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

VRHomeDesign.com

Have you held on to this. No one liked this post when you made it in Feb. 2015, but I think that if you hold on to this you'll have a decent payday coming.

Thanks

wow you own that? nice! sell it quickly. here's why.

https://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=9d+vr

9D VR has been around in China for a little while now. if they can perfect making it smaller like thee Oculus?

well you figure it out. Good luck! strike while thee iron is hot.

oh and this is of course a Short domain 4 characters with a great lucky Chinese number 3. very auspicious to the Chinese and the Chinese lately have been heavily snatching up short VR domains on REG not aftermarket. but who knows they might want aftermarket soon?

Any thoughts on 3DVR.com.

Excellent name if you have it.
Plays well in many/most languages and is a semi-category killing name.
Very broad appeal.
Keeper and a hold till the market matures, unless you are getting higher 5 figure offers for it now.
So, do you own it or just asking the question ?

yes own it - thank you all kindly for the feedback and insight.
Purchased it last year to launch our new product into the VR world this summer - but always listening to feedback from people in the business on valuations.

Always appreciated - Cheers.

Nice! Good luck! I'm sure the question on everyone's mind here is "how much did you pay for it? or was it a private sale as I'm sure no one has seen it's sale on Namebio and other sites like it.

Care to share this info? it would help this thread alot as every sale is a perfect marketing tool for our VR domain sales. you don't have to if you don't want to.

:rolleyes::lookaround:

any fear or worry that by getting "3D" that you might have put yourself in a situation of becoming outdated? seeing as how tech is always evolving and very rapidly I might add. As I've mentioned China has already been on 9D for a little while now. they might now be on to the next which is 10D to even 16D soon.

Sorry fella, I am going to take issue with your advice (for the newb's).

You never want to sell a appreciating asset quickly, for any reason. Unless you are hard-up for cash.
And 9D is not even on the same planet as 3D for a keyword.

Just MHO.

It's a great name. Could you say more about the intentions for development of it ?
It plays very well in international markets. I tried to get this 5 years ago.
But bought it in some in other TLD's and moved on.
Thanks.

I see. no need to apologize. I totally agree 3d is the "hot word" of the day. but hasn't it been mentioned here by I think Alcy that we as domainers must look 5-10 steps ahead into the future and grab a good keyword domain before that keyword becomes mainstream and the market is saturated and expensive to buy in the aftermarket?

I already was advised by Namepov about one of my tech keyword domains which now has become "old news" and I'm stuck with them.

I think perhaps HDVR.com would have been a more "lasting" investment I doubt HD ( HiDef) will ever become outdated? and I think 3D fits under the HD umbrella among other techs.

I could be wrong here of course.

I still do like 3DVR.com for sure don't get me wrong. just worried about it getting outdated since it's happened to my own tech domain investments. just here to help not criticize.

Looking ahead is a matter of projecting what a good keyword/name will be before that actually takes place.
So you may either hand reg it or purchase it from the owner before that happens while demand is low.
Of course, you need to be correct on 20% more or less of those projections or you will likely loose money depending on exact circumstances..

I think HDVR is a great investment if you hand reg'd it or have less than $500 in it.
Don't pre-dispose the acronym. 4L's can be a lot of things. It's a good hold till the market catch's up.
