Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Here, I will leave you tonight with some namespace talk.

Real 3D avatar creation will be a "thing" for use in all the social media VR space.
Folks will be having themselves 3D SCANNED for that. (4 years?)
They do this for athletes, actors and the like for games now.
Many/most folks will want themselves as avatars even if they may use their heroes avatars in some places.
I see a early market in smartphone cameras/app as a easy way to make this face panorama a doable thing to have a static image that represents you in a virtual room with whatever body you put your 3d face on.
Apple has already done a bunch of r&d on 3d mapping with their phone camera.

So now all you have to do is figure out what names will be in demand in that market. Less is more. Perhaps you see no market? I see a very limited one.

I have many on my 6 month old short list (not yet reg) and I'm pretty sure they will still be available next month/year?. I probably will only take 2 names in that space.
It is a very early market. Hard to tell what direction/form it will take.

May the VR force be with you !

Interesting discussion. The real value of vr + keyword will be the SEO potential. By example - If you own vrglasses or such strong keyword combinations, you will got a very positive effect for the ranking for all "vr glasses" google searches and with that additional traffic on your site - altough your site have another name. But I appreciate to read also negative meanings here - it's good to proof the own position.

Is that similar or equivalent to embodied avatars?

My latest round going for geo/brandable:

After @DareDevilDeals pulled me up on earlier registrations I did for this, I realized I had the wrong translations (or least not the best). So, I had to get upgrades:

xianggangVR
VRxianggang

xianggang means "Honk Kong" but not as popular as "Honk Kong" itself (already registered)

VRnihon
nihonVR

Nihon means "Japan", earlier I has registered the Nippon variations but later learned that Nihon is 63% more popular among Japanese speakers. So, do your research ... I thought I was thorough but missed a lot.

The reason I'm hot for these keywords is because the marketshare for these technologies will be huge in these regions.

Also had to get:

VRgamegloves

What I like about these domains is I could always develop them if I can't sell them, I have no problem making Amazon stores or Adsense traps.

And yes I already got the AR versions.

Probably not either by definition.
Was just mentioning that the first logical step is that folks are going to want to use the likes of there own image for use in virtual rooms of many types so real life friends actually know who they are in a virtual room. Even business.
There will be a limited namespace for that. Early worm gets the bird !

Personally, I see "real uses" of most embodied avatars as a nuisance much like spam. Time will tell. But I made no reference to them.

Common mate. VRartgallery, VRart, VRpainting - I have alsoways a imagination, what application or site I could launch with these domains. But VRpaints? Are paints not only the colors? Maybe its a good brand name, but nothing more - at least in my opinion. :)

Dude, you read my mind! When I look at the recent VR domain sales, the only ones I can really make sense of are the adult VR domain names. I know that's because I'm new to this and I still think like an SEO, but it would have taken me awhile to come up with many of the non-adult VR domains that were sold so soon and for so much. That had me scrambling to change my mindset and to try to find new golden opportunities.

I'm not that negative for other good vrdomains. By example vrARt will becomes a really good investment - I already have an offer, that is higher then my paid price, but I don't want to sell currently. I think in 2-3 years some adresses, will have a much higher value, but of course its gambling.

Thank you for sharing your insight again! Much appreciated.

I do have the name EmbodiedAvatars, I must have been in a real future mood when I regged it a few months back i think now.

I think Nintendo saying it won't be competing in the vr space is a huge mistake for them.

Since you bring up the subject, I'll touch on it.
While advertisers are looking for ways to advertise in this new virtual world,
I see the use of embodied avatars a big player when this gets going.

For those that do not know, EA's are a computer generated person, artificial intel that you think is just a person in the virtual room.

So you can see how I connect the dots here. Hi Tech VR Spam.
Not all... but who else has the most money and use of them.
