Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

I got an offer awhile back on a VR#L.io but it expired and I had to wait months to get it back. Then I tried to get the buyer to secure it via BIN but no luck. Wasted 2x reg fee lol.

@Constantin S, congrats on your reg!

Back during the 3D craze several years ago, I sold multiple 3D+geo names in the $$$ to low $$$$ range... I would note, however, that the vast majority of my sales involved "First world" countries and major cities (EU and U.S. / e.g. London, Paris, England, Germany, etc...), so you might want to limit your acquisitions of the more exotic locales... (e.g. You may want to think twice before you reg VRdjibouti.com... which somebody has actually regged!!!:xf.laugh:)

I've done some research before I decided to register it (like everyone should):
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=kenya,Djibouti,germany,italy,greece
"Kenya" is the 3rd most searched African country, IMO that was worth a shot.
Thanks for the heads up though.

i love enthusiasm for VR cause i have plenty of it myself.. but now you are kinda getting into 3 words.. vr+crypto+kw

so imo that makes big difference in the gamble factor.

it is one thing to own vrblockchain.com.. and another to own vrblockchainpoker.com..

keep your funds for some neat vr domains you can still buy relatively cheap on aftermarket.. or some expired domains u can sometimes catch..

jmo

cheers

Thanks for your input Alcy!!

I would agree that long tails are not the best or most profitable move, and as such I have lots of “primo” one word VR’s.... HOWEVER, I am a firm believer in gambling on the “VR Crypto + keyword” domains....and even more so on VR+Crypto+Gambling domains.

I feel that in the present market VR+Crypto+Keyword is a STRONG buy!
Namebio has posted some extremely strong sales, but I suppose only time will prove if this is just a blip on the radar screen, a passing fancy, or the real deal. But, I personally have no problems spending a few bucks on a gamble that may pay off huge in the future as opposed to sitting idly by watching everybody else make the money. ;)

Alcy gives good advice. When you throw three different keywords together, it can really lower value and potential. I've done a few myself including one this week, but I know those names are a higher gamble than my two keywords. I'm told VR is considered one keyword. I grabbed VRbeachVolleyball last year because I can see a developer building a virtual game where we play with bikini clad girls...or girls playing with guys. Maybe I was dreaming though.:) Lots of good names get dropped during the year.

hahaha.. speak for yourself ;)

you must have conveniently (or not) missed all the posts that talked about the few years of waiting time for VR to evolve and go mainstream... so that's all people are doing now.. waiting.

in meantime, keep reevaluating your folio each year folks.. keep what you think is best with your evolving domaining knowledge.. and more importantly, what your budget allows you to keep.. and remember there are no more 1-2$ easy transfer and reg dotster promos around.. so keeping 1000s of domains for few years could be harder to do.. :)

all the good domains are long gone, so there is nothing to reg now really.. some nice things are dropped now and then.. but get picked up fast.. I still get some expired stuff now and then.. recently: vrcrime.. virtualreatyguy.. vrgravity.. and more... maybe a few per week or so.

like was said before here.. let's talk again in some years from now.. then we won't be needing crystal balls.. and now we kinda do.

I get tons of XX offers on my VR domains from domainers.. they come almost daily.. some tempting ones in low XXX now and then.. which I mostly decline cause I beleive they'll do better in future... and few sales this year.. biggest being:

thevrblog.. 1450
vracers 1500

.com

happy vr domaining folks.. and remember... alcy is watching every VR domain you drop ;)
mouahhahahha

cheers

I don't think you understood what I wrote....

well.. misunderstandings do happen... but that does not make what I wrote any less true or relevant.. so let's just say you did your best to sum things up.... and so did I.

cheers
all the best

Yes...you did your best at summing up what you thought was a reply, but wasn't quite related to what I wrote...

Congrats to the purchaser of VREU in king. $560 seems to be a good buy.

Hopefully it was someone from this thread

Congrats on the sale. But, I don’t fully understand why that combo is worth that much? Obviously both of you see it’s potential. Care to elaborate more on the combo meaning? Congrats again, thanks.
