Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

NameSilo
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

I thought it was cheap too for what are undoubtably 2 of the most talked about and current technologies. But a Sale is a Sale. Congrats!

Looking back at some of our older posts, I get the feeling that thisthread will be looked at as one if the biggest jokes in domaining.

VR may not be nearly as big as it was hyped up in this thread. It's going to continue to grow, but the amount of uses aren't going to be nearly as broad as everyone (including myself) thought it could be.

hahaha.. speak for yourself ;)

you must have conveniently (or not) missed all the posts that talked about the few years of waiting time for VR to evolve and go mainstream... so that's all people are doing now.. waiting.

in meantime, keep reevaluating your folio each year folks.. keep what you think is best with your evolving domaining knowledge.. and more importantly, what your budget allows you to keep.. and remember there are no more 1-2$ easy transfer and reg dotster promos around.. so keeping 1000s of domains for few years could be harder to do.. :)

all the good domains are long gone, so there is nothing to reg now really.. some nice things are dropped now and then.. but get picked up fast.. I still get some expired stuff now and then.. recently: vrcrime.. virtualreatyguy.. vrgravity.. and more... maybe a few per week or so.

like was said before here.. let's talk again in some years from now.. then we won't be needing crystal balls.. and now we kinda do.

I get tons of XX offers on my VR domains from domainers.. they come almost daily.. some tempting ones in low XXX now and then.. which I mostly decline cause I beleive they'll do better in future... and few sales this year.. biggest being:

thevrblog.. 1450
vracers 1500

.com

happy vr domaining folks.. and remember... alcy is watching every VR domain you drop ;)
mouahhahahha

cheers

thats some real nice domains

there is more and more talk of VR + crypto/blockchain

I registered blockchainsVR..com just after your sale.. (evil smile)

though I think its a long shot with the plural. but.. vrblockchains is regged for a while.. so....you never know.. gotta take some chances in domaining if you believe in a niche.

good on you to jump on some nice VR regs back in 2015 or so.. when stuff was still around for regfee.

cheers

I only have these. Not sure if they're any good. Didn't think much about crossing VR with crypto.

BTCVR
VRCrypt

I haven't posted on here in a while but the sales are still happening and the offers are still coming in. I have a wide and larger portfolio than most which allows insight as to which sub-niches are getting interest.

Just hold on... VR is only going up from here. If you're not use to investing in tech trends it may seem like it's not doing well, but for us who've been doing this for a while... it's right on track. Sometimes it takes years for the surge. Slow and steady and you will eat.

just my two cents.

yep same here... in the end the main VR game is played by the big fish with billions of dollars.. they'll decide how VR unfolds.. and more importantly.. when.

It is true that we expected the development of vr to be faster and more explosive, but I do not honestly believe that it is going so badly.

It is difficult, perhaps even impossible, for it to go much better than it does. There are many factors to take into account to see that the technology advances overcoming the technical problems, improving the quality of the components, the number and quality of the industrial companies that have joined the sector, the potential of uses of vr, the potential of webvr, .......

Undoubtedly domaining vr has a bright future, perhaps later than we thought and wanted, but certainly brilliant.

Reduce portfolio and prepare for a long journey, the best of strategies.

Calm.

yep... I dunno know about rest of the guys who used to post here.. to each his own I gues.. but to me its still just a when.. not an if... and I renew and keep my VR domains accordingly.

cheers.

It will be interesting to see how VR related Cryptocurrencies perform in April upon the release of the 'Oculus Go' and the eagerly anticipated 'Ready Player One'. There was a big spike in interest in Decentraland's 'MANA' when the 'Go' was unveiled.

They should be a good real time indicators of how the VR market is performing.

Just a few to keep an eye on.

Decentraland 'MANA'
VibeHub 'VIBE'
RevolutionVR 'RVR' (previously Voxels/VOX)
Spectiv VR 'SIG'
Gazecoin 'GZE'

regged this last nite:

VRU .io

goes good with my VRU.co (received good few low XXX to mid XXX offers so far for it)

as far as I know all LVR.io and VRL.io are taken.. but I only checked couple random ones.. with poor letters... and they're gone..

not sure about .co.. maybe all taken too.

recently declined by accident metavirtualreality..com $300 on sedo

I say by accident cause I have a few negotiations goign there.. and it was early monring and I thought this was for my meta.one domain lol

I'd have taken it otherwise.. but.. a nice domain nonetheless.. with future potential... so I decided not to kill myself for this particular mistake.

I’ve noticed lots of people registering VR names in the .io extension. I haven’t done this yet because my registrar charges $42 for a .io. Is there any particular reason why you guys are registering VR this extension? Or is it just because there’s a sale on somewhere? Or?

Btw.... just reg’d BCVR // net!! (Blockchain OR Bitcoin👍🏻) Yes...not the com...and some may argue that VRBC is a better arrangement..... but for “my” BCVR, my registrar wanted $800 for the.org..... and only &10.50 for the net.... woot! And Estibot values it...as is...at $420

New Virtual Reality themed TV show advertising quite a lot in the UK at the moment, co produced between Channel4 and Netflix, it's starting next Monday on Channel 4 called 'Kiss Me First'.

Here's the trailer:-

Ready Player One, now this. Great to see mainstream TV and Hollywood taking Virtual Reality seriously and putting money into to creating stories on it, that can only be a good thing (y)

well generally .io is very good extension nowdays.. you can check namebio.. not just for VR.. but crypto.. and all things tech.. but alas, not only for tech either!

best thing is to folow namebio sales..

I'd go easy on VR domains in .io for now at least.. cause its big renewals.. and few years away.. but.. do pickup vrgames vrglasses.io if ever you see them ehheeh

Thanks.... still don’t understand WHY though.... My registrar charges $6.99/com and $42.99/.io.
Did a different registrar have a sale on .io? I would think vrglasses in NET would be more valuable than the same in .io....no?
