Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
If you read and absorb, you will find out the do's and don'ts to the domaining world.

What would be the purpose for it? Can't just put VR infront or after a random word and think it will be of any value, sorry.

Other than the obvious VR niches like Gaming and Technology I believe that the Clothing industry and other Consumer industries are investing in the Virtual Shopping experience and if I could view a specific product in VR I would type in VR and that product.

How long have you been domaining for?

I imagine that after reading all 1197 pages that I'll come to the conclusion that domains are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. All the formulae, market knowledge, sector growth, keyword trends, blah blah blah won't do me any good because nearly every VR+keyword in the English Dictionary has already been reserved and I'm just trying to be a little creative in finding one or two that might be worth a shot.

I think that VRLeggings.com was a steal for a late in the game hand reg. Considering someone thinks Leggings.com is worth $1,9M IMO

Seriously??

What kind of company would use this domain and for what kind of profitable product or service?

After two days of playing with the Oculus Touch -controllers, I'm more sure than ever that VR is going to be huge once the prices of Oculus Rift -like systems come down. Good times ahead, I think.

Totally agreed. I'm loving my Touch controllers too. They've opened up so many new possibilities.

Sounds like he's trolling, but I'm afraid that's not the case.

Lol, same case every time in this thread. You try to do good and help people out and over and over again you get the same defensive response.

VR Factory .com

Now, just: $ 50000 USD
We believe it can bring you great economic benefits!

It may at any time by others first get
If you are interested, do not hesitate!

Please contact me!

There's no point targeting investors at that price. You need to be looking for big end users.

I'm in full agreement with PAINC.

I'm pretty familiar with the workings of the retail fashion industry (at the c-level) and I'd suggest that VRLeggings is way too niche of a dn, with a very limited number of possible "real" end users - if any...

My 2 cents...

You're a bit off track, especially if you're basing your creativity on the sale of a one word com that has nothing to do with VR.

Sorry mate, but your post is further evidence that you should not only read this thread a time or two, but research and educate yourself on Virtual Reality as a whole, IMO.

Either way, gl with the names.

What do you think about JeansVR, SneakersVR and HatsVR?

Just to clarify, I am not claiming to be an expert. I am not employed in the retail fashion industry and haven't been for a quite sometime but I grew up in it and several of my family members are still actively involved in it at the c-level. As such, some aspect of it the retail industry -- such as the coming use of VR in retail -- is always part of our conversations so I feel I have some decent knowledge and insight in to it and how it is evolving.

What do you guys think about VR domains against AR (augmented) and MR (mixed)? Would you think the AR/MR/etc. prefixed or suffixed domains be bought out, too? I have a bag of VR names and only a really small handful of AR, and still on the fence about going for the available AR-based names.

As with VR I would say it's also become very hard to register domains in the other mentioned tech's as people have been regging these for a long time as well.

Simple answer, pretty much all the good stuff would have already been snapped up.

Ok, been thinking about the immersive VR experience combined with a commercial industry and came up with these .coms

LondonFashionweekVR
ParisfashionweekVR
VRlondonFashionWeek
VRParisFashionWeek

It's commercial, it's a possible Exclusive pay per view VR Experience without having to fly and attend such shows.

Is this the kind of thing you've been talking about as viable VR domains or am I still banging my head against a brick wall?

I don't understand why people are still hand reg long tails when "half decent" VR+kw names are being sold every week here for $xx and low $xxx. my 2 cents.

Perhaps learning the hard way is something every domainer needs to go through early on :stop:

My dear friend I have one opinion for you. You have collected lots of VR names. No problem. Now lets try to sell 3-4 names more then Hand registered value. If you are able to sell 3-4 names by doing anything then you can reinvest same money in buying/registering more VR names. Domaining is not one way street where you hand register something and keep registering without selling anything. Here people care for you and that is the only reason they gave their opinion to read more in detail what is VR and where it is applicable. I am not an expert of anything. Just giving my opinion with positive intention. Final decision is yours. In this world no one is right and/or no one is wrong. But now lets try to sell something from your VR portfolio. That experience will teach you what will work and what will not work.

Thanks

Yes, in my opinion you are still banging your head against the wall.

Fashion weeks serve multiple purposes. One of which is to see and be seen. Those that are part of the industry want to be there so they aren't going to blow it off because it's just as easy to "experience" it sitting at their desk via PPV.

As far as the general public goes, I think they are interested in primarily in seeing the "glamour" and the stars. Unfortunately fashion weeks involve a lot of less than interesting activity, spread over a variety of venues and days, that gets condensed down to a few reportable bits of hype/news for consumption by the public at large. (Though the trade publications will also discuss more of the business side of things.)

Maybe the organizing groups of these events might have a little interest in these domains but I'm not picturing the general public having a big interest in these - at least in the foreseeable future.

Again, my opinion...
