Here's my question..what is the value of domain hack? I've seen some good domain hack and i was wondering about the value of it. I myself own one and i'm not sure whether or not i should get more. I haven't seen any sale of domain hack. Why do we register domain hack? Is it because the domain looks cool or because there's a potential end user who's willing to buy such domain?

110% eh, well i'm glad to hear it!

As for your point about naming a case where someone has, publicly, lost an .al domain i'm afraid I can not name any such case. But then, in a country where local mafia gangs still control Albania's capital city (of Tirana) I wouldn't necessarily expect to hear of any publicized cases.

so you just made that up for a reason or another. They are some 10,000 registered domain names and no one has lost a domain name because of fishy court rulings or laws. Anyway, why did you make that up?

But then, in a country where local mafia gangs still control Albania's capital city (of Tirana) I wouldn't necessarily expect to hear of any publicized cases.
You are clueless. You are much more likely to get beatrn or robbed in NYC than in Tirana. Local mafia gangs control jack. The country is of course still in transition like all Eastern European countries but it's extremely safe.

You can ask whatever you like, for your domains, but you would never get $500,000 for any of your names. As for $5,000, and your claim that all a buyer would need to do is a quick risk/reward analysis, to reach the answer of "yes", again this is the kind of walter mitty type thinking that lands domainers in such trouble, and causes them endless grief and disappointment.

$5,000 is a lot of money, understand? You may get lucky, but in my experience very few people would ever part with $5K unless the identity they are buying is very strong indeed. Some will disagree with me on this, but I don't think your birmingham.al name is worth that kind of money.

Yes, it is a creative domain, yes it is attractive, but in my book it is just not that valuable.

$5000 is a lot of money if you hope to sell the domain for 4-5 times the $5000 paid. $5,000 for an end user living in Birmingham Al, that money is nothing. Let's face, there is a cost for any type of business but for $5,000 or so he/she can get a great name, do a site and start getting traffic and selling ads right away. Of course it's all an opinion, one might not even pay the reg fee, someone might offer $15,000

Let's face it, it 's great (sorta) hack and $5k doesn't get you any geo domain with "very strong identity"

I am still miffed that I could have had registered recycle.it back in 2006, but EuroDNS was too slow in sending get this a FAX to the Italian registry. Still have a few in the bag, getting occasional low xxx offers, holding out for more. Domain Hacks are finally hitting mainstream thanks to twitter and facebook needing short urls. Just like why one letter domains will never lose their value.

Lots of names I see here I've scanned before and passed: Tex.as , Oklaho.ma, CityName.StateCode. Hope it all works out for your guys.

Btw for .is domains, how do you get the domains to resolve to a parking company. The registry keeps telling me nameservers are invalid and don't meet "technical standards".

How much was recycle.it sold for?

The Tex.as and Birmingham.al /Boston.ma etc...are unique and one either buys them or not. End users can create e legit business around them; domainers are not the target market, domainers seek to sell for 5-100 times the price they paid for.

Tex.as is a superb hack, and will fetch a great price when Dhananjeyan eventually sells it.

Isnic allow you to do domain/nameserver forwarding, so you should be fine!

I would have taken that offer on that domain, but that is just me.
SDSINC,with honest respect, you can't always take the negative on everything, people lie,but also tell the truth. You seem to always have a negative comment in your posts. If someone sold a hack for x amount good luck to them,I've seen a few good sales in hacks,so you never know.

Thanks. Did not know about this domain forwarding, will look into it. Yes this was in 2006 so much different then, you had many hacks available. Recycle.it was sold for $6000+ in 2009.

queri.es

...can be used standalone or with sub-domains:

queri.es ("queries" = 49,500 monthly searches)

sql.queri.es ("sql queries" = 14,800 monthly searches)

media.queri.es ("media queries" = 33,100 monthly searches)

.no is only available to Norwegians, big risk if anyone use a stand-in owner if that's the case.

Not an issue at all. There are many European registrars who offer local presence trustee service for foreign registrants.

Do you have any serious websites aimed at Norwegian costumers on a .no domain?

The number of .no domains that can be registered by a single entity is capped.
Difficult to offer a regular trustee service in such conditions.

How many domains can I register?
From 17 June 2014 you can register up to 5 domain names under .no, up to 5 domain names under priv.no, and up to 5 domain names under each geographical domains administered by Norid.

http://www.norid.no/domeneregistrering/oss.en.html#priv2

Yes, single entities can register upto a maximum of 5 domain names, but when a single entity uses an organization as a trustee, the trustee organization can have upto 100 domain names.

http://www.norid.no/navnepolitikk.en.html#link5

Organizations
5.1 The applicant must be an organization registered in Norway's Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities [Enhetsregisteret]. See the list showing the forms of organization which may apply (Appendix E). The organization must run genuine operations and/or have activities and substance according to information specified in the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities, and must provide evidence that it genuinely exists if Norid demands such evidence. The organization must have a Norwegian postal address.

5.2 Each organization may at any time have up to 100 domain names directly within .no. An organization may also have up to 5 domain names under each geographical domain to which the organization belongs, as well as 5 domain names under each second-level domain to which the organization belongs.
