Here's my question..what is the value of domain hack? I've seen some good domain hack and i was wondering about the value of it. I myself own one and i'm not sure whether or not i should get more. I haven't seen any sale of domain hack. Why do we register domain hack? Is it because the domain looks cool or because there's a potential end user who's willing to buy such domain?

I had issues like this before with escrow. Check your SWIFT and IBAN details, if I remember right the issue was because I copy pasted the details and there was an extra space or something which messed up the transfer.

I also had issues with sedo and buyers backing out but in your case it sounds like sedo has secured the payment already so you should have no worries that you will receive your funds, give them a call I would say and ask for someone that can help you over there to speed up the process.

Thanks for the suggestions :) I just double checked the SWIFT & it's all correct, no extra spaces.

And that's the problem with some hacks

Very true. 99.9% of domain hacks don't
pass the 'radio test' at all, in that
you can't state them verbally without
sounding like an idiot.

They "work very well" in what way?.. Be please more specific.

I know that most 'hack' owners buy because they think the names look "cool", but very few owners think about exactly how they are going to be used in a practical way.

I say that if you can't verbalize a 'hack' domain, easily, and without embarrassment, then the name instantly loses 98% of the value it might otherwise have had...

Don't mistake me, I love it when folks are creative with domain IP, but there needs to be a layer of 'common-sense' and practicality applied to 'hack' ownership, and regrettably, most names of this type fail in this regard... miserably.

I meant to say that 2 word hacks where the extension builds the second word pass the radio test, example: SLAP dot ME

and I don't see it costing anywhere near 98% of the domain value if a domain doesn't pass the radio test, radio-test is slightly over-rated by domainers to begin with IMHO

also most (probably +90%) of the decent domain hacks are usually 2-3 letters so they pass the test as good as any LL.ext or LLL.ext, but what a pleasant surprise for the surfer to see a boring LLL domain transform into an awesome inspiring domain hack in his browser...

Radio test?

There are lots domains that will passes that so called "radio test"

There was this guy who called the radio station and he started talking about all these domain names. He was verbally clear about all these domains he was talking about (so I guess all these domains passed what so called radio test?)

Finally, the DJ or radio announcer got annoyed and asked the guy "why are you telling me all these names and what's your point?" the guy responded "nothing" so the DJ hanged up on him and said "what an idiot"

Well lots of good dot coms dont pass the radio test either

Person A: Whats the domain?
Person B: no_url_shorteners
Person A: Hmm, is that B i t l e e dot com?
Person B: No, its B i t l y dot com

Person A: Whats the domain?
Person B: Zynga.com
Person A: Hmm, is that Z i n g a dot com?
Person B: No, its Z y n g a dot com

As you can see, even short brandable domains are not immune to the "radio test"

It has been a while since I last registered a hack, but I found that Wineries had become available and I grabbed it.

It's now forwarding to a winery related site that I'm working on.

Laun.ch

How much would my 10 year old domain hack LAUN.CH be worth?

Re your .ch if you were the buyer in the recent sale I think it was the ultimate reseller price at this stage. If you can find a end user buyer or more importantly they find you I would reckon the price would be anywhere between low xxxx and 2x,xxx depending on how long your keen to keep it for or how much you need the money. I was watching it an would have thought it was perfect for a company like launch rock or kick of labs.

Any one see how much ri.ch sold for?
