If I was .XYZ, I would have put them all up for auction and then applied regular renewal fees for all domains. Just as with .COM etc. Not some premiums and some for $0,88. This is just adding confusion and disbelief and will reduce the value for them as possible assetts. I guess.

I somewhat agree, but it's 2500 a year, which is 50 grand in 20 years. You can get a great .COM for 50k with just a 10 dollar renewal.
