It appears the domain industry has been starting to take notice of the .us namespace over the past year, read DnJournal.com .us growth and Namepros with even greater expectations for the year to come.

So I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone to show us your .us domain names. You can post your favorites or your entire portfolio.

Hi. Do any of you consider your purchases as a long-term investment .

Not unless I have a "plan" for them. I don't foresee a huge rise in .US value. I don't see a huge decline in value. I think the market will be slightly positive but not enough to make a hold. You're better off selling and consolidating and upgrading if you can.

it's better to accept a decent offer now than wait forever for a killer offer. Make a few decent sales and you can buy better names. Obviously, if you landed a killer name, you can hold on to it to get fair value. The question of what is fair value is up to you, of course :)

Better to make 10 $200 sales than wait to make one $2000 sale imho.

In your example, $200 won't pay for anything better...

It's all relative. I'm not saying sell a name worth $1000 for $200 to buy another name worth $200.

.US names are interesting because I've not bought a name at TDNAM thinking I will catch it on the drop only to see it backordered at snap for $69... it's a strange world.

I think you can pick up great names for regfee. and these I wouldn't consider holds necessarily. Turning $3-8 into $200 is worthwhile.

Seems like gladdy is selling nonstop :) Nice! Congrats. I have just one us domain, dress-up dot us but I'm thinking to invest in this extension. Some nice names available, not very big sales but constant xxx and xxxx is very very nice.

Congrats once more, you're doing a great job.

Don't think those are his names? think he's just reporting them. Didn't see any .us domains on his site or sedo page.

Reporting only. That or he has sold a lot of the higher reported .tv too :)

It's just a service I think to keep the forum bumped and informed.

Not sure if this was reported but I checked out bido and it shows there were accepted offers on wine and teens from the past few months and lists the following as "closing prices":
Teens.us - $4500
Wine.us - $7000
Bankrupt.us sold for $3042 there as well.
Does anyone know if these sales actually went through?

I actually backordered lift.us, although I may have been able to regfee it, but I really wanted to snag this one (One person's junk is another person's gold).

I love the hack "lift us" as a positive message and plan to use it in conjunction with the site in my siggy (It now redirects to the site).

Not quite sure how yet.

Occasionally (when I'm not signed in), Google bumps up my site Thought for the day on page one for its term, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

lift.us is an excellent grab.
I think you did well to backorder it. Reg fee snag: I doubt :)

You're probably right--not a regfee possibility.

I usually do research before backordering, but (in this case) I didn't care--I just wanted the domain--so I just backordered it.

After I got it, then I nosed around in GAKT. I also discovered that the Otis elevator company owns the dotcom.

But I wasn't thinking "lift" as "elevator," but was thinking how much I liked the hack "Lift us."

;)

So I don't plan to venture into the "lift" biz.
