I wasn't going to post again in this thread, but a couple new issues have come up:
1) RJ posted in #38 of this thread that there is a ccTLD forum and also "a general Domain Discussion forum where .US can currently be discussed". However, moderators seem to shunt any .US posts out of Domain Discussion and into the ccTLD graveyard. For example,
this thread was posted in Domain Discussion, generated numerous replies, and then was silently moved by someone to ccTLD. If .US can indeed be discussed in General Domain Discussion, that should be made more clear to the mods.
2) A number of mods have posted that we should just use the tagging system and find .US threads with
this link. But that approach misses all the threads which users don't correctly tag. For example, the GoDaddy .US prices thread I just linked to (the one moved away from domain discussion) does not show up in that search. If the mod had moved it to a dedicated .US forum like we used to have, the thread would be easy to find.
My feeling is that some ccTLDs are much more popular than others, and deserve their own forum. If even .TV clears that bar, I certainly think .US does.
