Hello,

Ive been looking at 8NN.US (8 Number Number .us) domain names, and they appear to all be available!

But then I try to register them and it says they are not available!

What's going on? :td:

All 3 number .us domains with an '8' as it's first number show up as available in all whois checkers :|

... But all others show up as taken

Choose any other 3 number .US domains and they show up as Taken!

Yes They Show They Are Available But In Actuallity The .us Registration Has Those Reserved And Know One Is Allowed To Purchase Them, As You Notice Know One Ownes One.

Doesn't matter if the domain is 3 or 20 characters long, all .us domains starting with the number 8 is reserved.

Yeah It seems so... It seems a bit strange for them not to allow 8 as a prefix... why the number 8?

There may be a time when the .us takes off and numbers will play a important role in everyday common people in the usa to call over ip...
the internet example {{voip telephones calls}} this will all be internet related to numbers for example { the popularity of skype}, so the .us registery has forseen this future and reserved all the 800 numbers the popuplar prefix is 8 the most used for phone calls...
