Just found this one available, a number-only domain, all other extensions taken, and then tried to register.

Then only got "Not possible" to register.

Called Moniker support to check what was the problem and they told me that the .US registry is Not accepting number-only registrations anymore.

Are many of you getting this error?

Probably something to do with the phone / zip code projects Neustar has rumored (or maybe confirmed) to be starting.

Very strange. It's neither a standard US compliant phone number nor zip code.

Makes me wonder if I should hold my all # .us domains dearly.

Just attempted several random all # registration at GD and keep getting the error message " xxxxxxxx. is an invalid domain name. Reserved name error." Name.com not allowing numerical registrations either. This is the kind of news that should be more widely publicized.
