Has anyone used undeveloped.com to sell domains? They claim to be able to increase a domainers sales by 54%.

The issue is that some registrars tack on a grace period when pushing from account to account.
Once Undeveloped has the funds secure, it is only when they instruct you to push the domain name or issue Auth code.
They as in the buyer or Undeveloped?

So you are saying we do in fact have to push/transfer the domain directly to the buyer?

I do need to know this since I never ever under any circumstances transfer a domain directly to the buyer.
I only ever use a Full Escrow service like Sedo or Escrow.com's Concierge Service.

If I do have to transfer one of my domains directly to a buyer then I would need to cancel my account.

u should always push to undeveloped account.
else u can run into delays and issues and be at mercy of buyer confirmation if he got domain etc.

u can easily push to undev accnts. they have them on most registrars. and are negotiable to open an account if your on more exotic registrar.. like dotster or somehting

That is what I want to confirm that I can Always push to Undeveloped's account and never directly to a buyer.
I have well known American registrars, like Godaddy, Namesilo ect.

well... you can't always push with sedo either.. they won't and don't have accnts on AL registrars across world. what I do know for fact though is that if you ask sedo to open an accnt on a rergistrar they're not on yet.. they won't give a dang about yoru request. and undev will give a dang ;)

but you will be fine with popular registrars. undev prefers it too to push to them first.. cause then no one is at mercy of buyers confirmations. and its smooth then

cheers

I don't know about everyone but I have always been able to push to sedo, even when they argued about the buyer not wanting or able to open a GD or Namesilo account.
Sedo doesn't have to open an account with some strange registrar the buyer has, they buyer just has to wait the 60 day lock to end after I push it into one of sedo's accounts.

Believe me, you stand your ground and they will accept your domain.
I would rather lose a sale then lose my domain.

I was just reading this part of the Sellers Guide and some of it concerns me,

We kindly ask you to provide us with the transfer code or push the domain to our escrow account as soon as we’ve received the funds. The next step is sending the authorization code to the buyer or pushing the domain from our escrow account into the account of the buyer. Finally, IF the domain is successfully transferred we will transfer the payment to the account of the seller.

Does this mean we have to wait until the buyer actually receives the domain in order to receive payment?

I would Only ever want to push the domain directly to Undeveloped's Escrow and Never transfer it directly to the buyer, and I would think once the domain is in Undeveloped's Escrow and they have payment then we should be entitled to receive full payment regardless if or when the buyer receives the domain.

This is how Sedo does it.

Hi Lenn,

When a domain push is possible, you will get paid once you've pushed the domain to us. So we'll take care of the rest of the transfer with the buyer without bothering you or delaying your payout.

Kind regards,

Reza

Am liking the Undeveloped experience so far, and does seem better than Sedo for generating offers - probably partly due to the low-friction approach of letting people make an offer without creating an account. And possibly also due to pages being share-able on social media. Noticed in the Google Analytics stats I was getting visitors from social media. Why Instagram? Maybe typos? Who knows.

You can isolate which domain they visited and which social media platform they came from in Google Analytics:

>Acquisition >Overview >Social >Secondary dimension >Behaviour >Page Title

The Page Title contains the domain name. As the page titles are language specific (do they respond to browser's primary language, or is it IP address?) when you have views in different languages they are separate entries - but usually if you search for the domain name in the search box, it aggregates them on one line. (When you see your stats in the Undeveloped interface, they have done that for you so all visits to your domain go into one total, not separate language totals.)

Also by changing the time frame you can isolate a particular day - to see if news or outbound created visits, for example.

so I just decided now to switch my dns for most my names to undeveloped.. versus bodis redirect etc..

this will eliminate however many there are failed redirects due to ad blockers etc..

but aside from this obvious advantage.. who here or maybe @Undeveloped
can sum up for me all the differences and or advnatages of goiing to your lander via dns directly... vs doing it as url forward/redirects...

thanks!!!

p.s. I also noticed that cancelling a sale via outlined portofolio/edit method while releasing your name on market again and to the lander, does not at same time cancel completely the sale.. which means the last buyer unlikely as may be to pay, can still pay for it and the sale can still be saved.. if he has change of heart about paying. this is obviously very good as it can still preserve some sales.. while releasing name back to markt for other leads..

@Undeveloped A few weeks ago I Complained about buyers not paying for domains and undeveloped not giving the seller the option to cancel the transaction. You pointed out a Way to cancel the transaction but it still keeps the transaction open This is not giving the Seller control of the transaction! And its NOT ENOUGH If a seller decides to cancel the transaction they should have the full 100% right to do so when they want to. I'm sick of the games And this is not Satisfactory as the seller you should have some kind of control and a NON PAYER NEEDS TO GET THE HINT THAT YOUR NOT PLAYING GAMES. There needs to be a option to cancel the deal! There should also be a way to message the seller after the agreement is reached.

Hi Imadoer,

Did you contact support? Full cancelation requests are handled quite fast if you use the chat option while being logged in.

Kind regards,

Reza

That takes too long especially on the weekend when no one is available. Pretty sad you dont want to give a little extra control to the seller.

Are you complaining to complain? I'm getting a bit fed up with all the unfounded complaints in this thread that creates clutter and takes way our attention of important high-impact items.

You have the ability to relist the domain and quite to the contrary we exclusively offer support in the weekends for also this type of requests.

If this thread continues to build on the negatives constantly my personal interest to be as active here will also diminish.

Hi Boudi,

You can enable renting your domain in that column. Do note that we (currently) offer rentals only and not a combination landing page. Our tests so far show the combination lander is too confusing and hurts conversion so we still have work to do until we'll offer rentals in a different way.

What I would advice is to use the rental option as an additional tool for you to become a more successful seller.

So in negotiations when you see the negotiation is stalling, propose the buyer multiple options including the ability to rent the domain. In most cases, negotiations go south due to a too big discrepancy between your price and the price that the buyer has in mind.

When you enter such a deadlock in negotiations, I would advice to always propose the option for your buyers to purchase the name in installments or flirt with the idea to rent the domain.

Once the buyer agrees to rent the domain, you simply enable the rental landing page and ask the buyer in chat to visit the domain and initiated the transaction.

Kind regards,
Reza

I wonder if somewhere you could advise buyers or offer-makers that installments or rental may be available. Then they could ask the seller about that since, as you say, this can move negotiations along. And allows them to spend more.

Some of the repeat queries in this thread could go into an FAQ - someone else started an FAQ thread on here hoping to avoid trivia but info from this thread would have to be moved across to that one. And since Undeveloped is under development things may change!
