Typos - What is A Good Return ?

If you register a typo what do you consider a good return ? $1 a day $5 a day $50 a day $10 a month ? Is there any figure which you consider good or really good ? And do typos fade with time or do they tend to be regular earners that just go on earning ?

I find that typos need to generate a click a day paying a minimum of 0.03 cents to get to break even (365 x 0.03) .

Yes that's true but I was wondering at what point people who have a lot of typo domains consider that it is a good typo as compared to just an OK or poor typo. Is $5 a day considered good or just average or even poor ?

dont bother trying to get typos monte from moniker has them all

Not all typos are created the same. In my analysis 5% of all typos will beat the rest 95% by a 100x margin. I foresee a big drop in typo domain registrations as the lowered PPC will make it unprofitable to own the underperforming 95% of the typos domains.

credit card typos that only make a hundred a month are crappy.

Credit card typos that make a few hundred sound good to me Thanks for all the info. What I was wondering was if you can get a typo watch it for 5 days to see if it was worth keeping then cancel the ones that are no good, and retire on the proceeds from the good ones !

dynadot.com has a 5 day grace period but I'd advise to get rid of the non-performing ones in 4

I use Godaddy they have the same 5 day period.

Any typo experts care to say how much they make from a good typo domain ?

A "good" name is any with $1+ a day. They add up pretty quick if you have a huge portfolio.

I stumbled on these while viewing the source code of a site related to "Telepresence". They had telepresence misspelled in their keyword string, which gave me the idea to at least see if the .com's were available - which they were. %%-

Teleprecense.com & Teleprescence.com

I've had them less than a month and they're already paid for....

But for every one or two I find like that, I find at least 25/50 that don't make enough to keep....

10% return each year is good enough for me, anything more is a bonus. So as long as my typos earn atleast $0.023 a day i'm happy

I agree. If you reach the break even, imo it's convenient to hold the domain considering that there is the possibility to sell the domain

Yes I can see that breakeven would be good - but a dollar a day sounds better as that way if you find a couple of hundred then you would be doing OK. It would appear from the answers so far that there don't appear to be manypeople making $5 or $10 a day from a typo domain.

Thats not many names EXIST anymore ( to be regged anyways ) that can make that. I'd say most of the $1 a day names are gone too.

I've written some software which is processing dictionary word lists to isolate available domains. As of now I have figured out and taken some domains which I think are good bets like boogeyed.com, Codirects.com Collogues.com among others. Does anybody know how I could monetize this list ?
