I´d be interested to know how much peaple are earning on Parking their Domains per month. I imagine there must be a very wide discrepancy between the good , the average and the bad.

Also what would be the % of good earning domains in relation to the average or very poor earners.

HI and welcome to NamePros -- I only have about a dozen names, but I can report that my clickthrough rate has increased from less than 20% when I started (last month) to now over 50% :) I do believe the improvement is due to better keyword selection as many of these names are parked at sedo where I have spent some time getting to know their keyword optimizer. Hey, if I can double my portfolio to two dozen names maybe I can get into sedopro one of these days?

Hope it helps ya gilsan

Gilsan, I always ask people who pose these types of questions to answer the questions themselves. Tell us about your own experience?

I have about 600 domains parked with Sedopro. Income is $20 to $30 a day, with half of that coming from just 2 or three domains. The best one I paid $1,000 for, and another I paid $500 for. On the other hand about half of the 600 names generate no income at all. Many of the non-earners were typos and odd names that I registered when I first started in this business a year ago, and I will let those drop. More recently I am purchasing names at auction and concentrating on at least halfway decent generics. For example I recently picked up linkeditor.com, mexicocall.com, tilling.org, redland.net (there are several cities called Redland or Redlands) and cratervalley.com (there are Crater Valleys in Nevada, Panama and Africa).

I also have two domains that each get about 50 or 60 hits daily, but no one ever clicks. I've tried changing keywords but nothing works. I may move them to NameDrive or DomainSponsor and see how they do.

Also, let me add that I'm going to start building mini-sites for some of the domains that pay a lot per click. That way I can drive traffic to them with Adwords and try some arbitrage. Actually, I did this when they were first parked at Sedo, not knowing that it was against their TOS (a real newbie move, I know) and I made $200 a day profit until Sedo told me to stop.

Guess the income depends on the type of traffic you get and quality of keywords and type of site that was running on the domain (if it was an expired domain).
I have a domain which gets about 75 uniques, 7 - 10 clicks and it makes $4-$5 / month. Also have another which get 1500 uniques, gets about 100 clicks but only makes $3 - $4 per month. The rest of them dont make much.

I always try to change keywords for domains until I make better $/Clicks.

If you are new to domain parking good luck to you. Keep looking for information in the forums there is a lot of info.

I just started out in domaining and only have 7 parked domains but what I have notice so far it that two of my domain names generate most of my money. Both are related to the stock market. One is a typo name and the other is somewhat correlated to a tv show. The other names I have have gotten around 5-10 uniques this month with between 1-3 clicks but the payout is really bad. Around 3-5 cents a click. The domains related to stocks are paying around 50 cents a click. Anyway that that has been my experiance so far.

All type-in and typo i believe, I don't think any of my names were previously developed or, in most cases, even regged. Just 16% of my portfolio (2 names) brings in 95% of the traffic and clicks but not all of my names are geared for parking. For example I bought three nonpremium LLLL.com names earlier this month and they have received less than a dozen uniques and 0 clicks total over the past 8 days parked at sedo so I will probably try to develop something for them instead of parking them.

Thanks for the feedback. Since I´m new to this, I have no domain names yet, but will buy a few dozen this week so as to develop 2 sites and park the rest at PARKED, NAMEDRIVE and FABULOUS or others.

I will be concentrating on casino, poker, stock markets and travel related names and am trying go get a general feeling as to what to expect in terms of earnings and which areas to concentrate more on.

Hey Gilsan, keep us updated on your progress.

I had about 50 names parked at sedo, making on average $30 per month, nothing great.

I decided to re-direct all my parked domains to a newly developed site which is heavily linked to affiliate programs which pay between $35-$105 per sign up, this is an adult site by the way and all my names linking to it are of the same nature.

I decided to do this due to the messly $30 per month I was making on sedo and after receiving a $105 referral check last month off another affiliated site I run. The way I see it even if I only get 1 $105 referral sign up every 3 months Ive still made more then simply parking them. Only downside is I now have to update my new site daily but seeing as Im home for a few months wth.

I guess I forgot to say that my domains were parked at sedo.

Clocker - what is arbitrage ? - I'm even more of a newbie than you were

So it seems, from reading this thread and others that the vast majority of parked domains (90-95%) only make about $1.00 or less per month.

Seems like it´s a great idea to set up a few simple mini sites, that should bring in a lot more earnings.

It all depends on your domains & Traffic. ( Must not be real traffic - Type in )
PM or post your top domains & traffic. I will suggest you. It is very easy to earn.

I usually keep 50 +/- domains on hand. I am more interested on resale as compared to parking.
In the past year I have had all of my domains parked a sedo and simply place one keyword that was close to my domain hoping for a sale and a few clicks here and there.
That is what I got, a few clicks here and there...and about 30 cents to $1 a month(best in 12 months) from 50 domains.

This process can depend on your focus, you can easily focus on selling and forget about parking while you are trying to sell.

-Thank you for your time.

Did you manage to sell any with Sedo ?

I do sell domain names at sedo.com
on the moment the is a auction going on of OrderAny.com
after that i will auction CheapLayout.com. %%-

I have 2000+ domain names.
Moslty parked at SedoPRO and Fabulous.
(I also use: NameDrive and make some own sites for google adsense)

I have to say that my income at Fabulous was great before the us gambling
law. After the law was introduced I saw my income go down by 60%
as such i invest much more carefull these days.

I have to say that my SedoPRO account is performing better each day and
I am going to send SedoPRO more traffic soon (by adding more domain names
to there program)

Making a good income has to do with:

- Having nice crispy domains with "Clean traffic" (traffic)
- The visitors should be really searching for the information/service/product (ctr)
- The parking page should look attractive to click on a link (ctr)
- The subject of the domain is important.
The more people who take ads on those keywords, the higher the income
becomes. (epc)
- customer service this is a very important aspect. I have the best
result with Sedo, ND and Fabulous. (parking service)
- Domain costs - dont pay to much for regging a new domain (domain registar)
- Know the organisations (for e.g. see www.ThePPCParkingGuide.com)
- Analyze the domain over time. Is it parked the right place, is the keyword
still good, is the keyword relevent? etc... etc...

The last and final advice I would give you is: ASK!!!
Ask people for help! Get in contact with domainers who are in the industry
since years and already have seen the major problems in the business.
Ask people here (at NamePros.com) questions! Make use of the great community.
Ask your account manager at the parking service to help you with major traffic domains.
Always remember: The more income for you, the more income for them.

Goodluck,

Faisj

Lots of useful info, Faisj - thanks. Something you may wish to know re. gambling sites in the UK, where a lot of the gambling companies are based, they have passed a law to allow advertising for gambling companies on TV, so the Brits willsoon be even more interested in gambling than they already are.
