1) How do you change the main domain on your hosting. Say I'd like one of my add-on domains to be the "main" one? Does it really matter?

and

2) If you use cPanel, did it update or something? cPanel's is looking different to me (actually looks if they took a step back as the previous setup was nicer). Maybe it's just my host?

You can't edite your main domain inless you have access to it in your reseller account.

Also cpanel could have changed your theme, easy to cheak, but as far as i know cpanel hasn't updated at least not on my box.

Hey,

Thanks for the quick response. Props being added...

Just some more questions from the help you've given me.

I'm not a reseller. I just pay for a hosting plan. Is there anyway? If I ask the hosting company, can they do it?

and

Where can I check the themes?

Webhosting is a whole new world to me. I've been using free hosting sites for waaaaay too long. Thanks for all your help!

You can ask your company if they can do it, sure there is a way.

Many times you cannot change the theme, but that depends upon the host. If memory serves me correctly, there should be a dropdown box near the top that will let you change themes if you are able to change them.

Whats been said about changing the primary domain is right, most hosts will gladly do this if you put in a support ticket or contact them another way. Most do not charge, the only one to do so i know of is HostGator who charge an extortionate $5 for "labour". (Anyone with access will appreciate how ridiculous it is to charge $5 for this)

I cannot remember 100% but i believe if they are working from WHM - you will have top remove your addon domain before having it changed to primary. Something is telling me that from the back of my brain, so if possible do so to avoid any delays.

CPanel will update, or check for an update, pretty much every night depending on the host's setup, however it is unlikely you will get a layout change and there has not definately not been one recently. If, as CrazyTech says, you can see a dropdown box to change your own theme (or it is possible that there is a cpanel icon on occasion) then you can control your own theme, however usually the host will control which theme you use - if you really want it changed, it may be worth noting that in your support ticket to have your domain changed :)

yes just contact your host its a very simple and quick change...very very easy to do. Also contact the host they may have things running on a older cPanel theme or have an out of date version.
