At the moment its a parked page under development, but Morgan Stanley merged with Smith Barney last year as investment houses were crumbling and banks collapsing. It was and is an inconvenient marriage of survival that took place in the carnage of 2009.

So with their new brand being called MorganStanleySmithBarney. With such a long name, I knew that they would go with MSSB.COM. I took a look at the whois and boy does it tell a story.

The .net was sold in May of 2009 and is a working site for Morgan Stanley.....
The .com was bought in June of 2009 and is a working site.
The org is available to buy for less than 1.5k and is a parked page.
.Me, .Ws, .Cc are all available to reg right now

.TV was regged before the .com and before the .net in March of 2009 by MSSB and is being managed by a website development company. It does not show anything YET to do with MSSB. And it may never show anything. Which if it stays like that would be a shame.

But the more important point is that .tv was regged, whereas .info is not regged by MSSB, nor is .org, nor .me etc etc....

Why?? I think because even during the biggest financial disaster to hit the brokerage Houses ever, they believed that they had to own the .TV at least as a defensive reg, and who knows they may yet build it out.

This is but one example of one of the biggest financial institutions taking .tv seriously enough to put in its back pocket.

To me this speaks volumes, especially as they got the.tv before the net and the.com and every other ext can go fly a kite.
