Hi, I understand GoDaddy holds transfered domains for 60 days (not allowing another transfer), Im wondering what the hold is on newly regged domains, I can't seem to find it.

I don't think name.com has a hold time at all on new ones.

Im also looking for a registrar that allows tasting for individuals, so I could buy domains and just delete them from my control panel if I didnt want to keep them, or maybe not be billed for a week if I didn't drop them.

New domains may not be transfered to another registrar for the first 60 days. It's an Icann rule. This is for .com/.net names etc.
ccTLDs may have different rules.

Dynadot allows you to taste names for free. They don't issue refunds but credit your account instead (to be applied for future regs).
Other registrars like Moniker allow tasting too, but they keep a small fee.

PS: Dynadot information on grace period

Hi Kath, thanks for they reply, do you know if that 60 days also apply to a push to another GoDaddy account?

Someone pushed me a domain at name.com that was only a week old, so that must have worked because it was not a transfer between registrars. I was under the impress GD didn't allow this but haven't been able to verify.

That Dynadot grace period is just what I was looking for too, thanks and rep+
