A simple tasting question

I've been toying with the idea of tasting a few domains at moniker. I got my account all set and I'm almost ready to give my short list a good run through. Here's where I'm stuck...

How do you guys handle the nameservers / stat gathering?

Up until now I've only used sedo for parking, but it seems that I wouldn't get much of an evaluation by them. By the time I enter sedo's nameservers, wait for it to propagate, add the name to my sedo account, and wait for them to approve it, I'd have maybe 1 day left to actually evaluate the name. If I'm lucky... I suppose I could try the program moniker suggests for parking, but that doesn't seem better. Even If I could make it happen faster this way, I don't think I'd get a real sense of value from this approach.

What would be ideal is to be able to point them to my hosting account and use my own script to gather traffic info. I think I can learn alot more about a name if I collected my own stats. It wouldn't matter that I didn't collect any revenue during the tasting period. I do have a godaddy hosting account that allows for unlimited domains as long as I stay within my bandwidth. I just can't see how I'd point a domain there that isn't regged at godaddy?

(P.S. I know now godaddy probably wasn't the best hosting choice. But the price was right and I payed for a full two years.)

I just put up a one page site (as in welcome to domainname.com) and collect the stats via a script. Easy and accurate.

I use moniker. I set my default name servers to sedoparking.com and they resolve with-in minutes. If a domain is deleted, it should resolve with-in a few hours of registration.

Sedo stats are enough for testing but you could use namedrive.com also.

ditto for namedrive. I regd a name a couple hours ago. namedrive says 15 visits and 3 clicks already.

Which GoDaddy plan allows for unlimited domains now?

And Sedo resolves w/n minutes on moniker purchases - and about 1/2 are automatically approved; no idea why the other 1/2 aren't and I get the awkward "We need to confirm your account details" email which I always answer with a "My whois hasn't changed in two years - It's still me trying to make you money for some reason :P "

The "deluxe" plan (6.99 p/m one month contract) has unlimited domains - and they don't have to be registered with GD.

Dagnabbit... I have multiple of their cheapest plans when all along I could have done that? Sheesh.
Well, off to investigate!

Don't feel too bad - I think it's only since the latest hosting interface "upgrade" that you can add domains using free text entry in the hosting -> domain management area.

I gave this a try with the first name I regged at moniker. For some reason instead of getting sedo's nameservers automatically loaded, I got monikers default parking nameservers. Even though I am positive I changed it. Anywase I had some other trouble when setting up the account so maybe it was all related. I ended up having to manually change the nameservers and wait for it to start resolving. I ALWAYS get "verifying domain ownership" at sedo for at least 24-48 hours after adding a name. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. That hasn't been a big deal. It's not worth the time to park a name that isn't getting traffic.

The one page site with a stat collection script is exactly what I'm after. I've even thrown together a pretty good script for just that purpose. I've got a name that sedo won't let me park cause its too racy. So I've been watching the traffic myself. I guess I just have to figure out how to point a name regged elsewhere to my godaddy hosting account. The manual says its possible, but the manual and the current hosting site don't agree on alot of things. The manual is obviously outdated.

Thanks for the help.
