"Trust" of a website ranks

I've currently noticed that nowadays the "trust" of a website ranks it better in the search engines.

Basically, as long as you have a bigger domain authority, better you will rank in the areas.

And to gain more authority i think it's easy, with social network links and with google maps location + link.

What do you think, it's this a good long term strategy that won't get affected by any other google update?

Build a credible quality website and avoid black hat methods for SEO. A fair and square fight over rankings is what Google wants. This might not get you to the top spot of search engines but at least it won't ban you from the results and you still have a chance to improve on it.
