I often tell new domainers to keep an eye on trends and snap up anything new that is trending.

We all know the story of Donald Trump and covfefe by now, but did you know about hamberders?

Some smart domainer did and picked it up right away. I just hope he is smarter than the owner of covfefe who turned down my 5k offer and now cannot get 200 bucks for it on sedo.

HeHe, I wont be bidding on hamberders but hopefully the owner of the domain can turn it over for a good buck fast.

But do these names ever sell ? Their shelf life is very limited and the business uses are limited too - other than selling T-shirts.

 

Covfefe sold though... i think on Flippa if my memory served me well.

 

Your $5k offer is a peanut compared to the $70k the owner turned down. However, Covfefe.com is still a great domain that can be put into many uses.

Hamberders? I'm not sure of that because it didn't receive the level of media coverage covfefe received.

 

Last I saw it was on Sedo and $200 or so was the largest offer.
If he turned down 70k then he definitely missed the mark and held on too long.

The thing about owning trending names is that you have to understand that trends pass fairly fast. Move the domain and concentrate on the next trend.

Didn't know Clemson won the championship. I lived in Clemson and I love the small college town. Other than that, why would someone want to spend money for such a non-sense this old crazy man spams on his twitter diary?

 

Just shows you how desperate some domainers are to buy something they can flip ... or not!
