Transfer time?

I bought a domain and it is being transfered from godaddy to namecheap, how long does it usually take once the seller has authorized the transaction (after I entered EPP code)?

If you email godaddy the process may be expedited.

5-14 days i think. In one of cases, it was 8 days.

I would guess a lot of domainers simply have accounts with the major registrars. I have accounts at GoDaddy, Fabulous, ENom, NameCheap, DomainSite, DynaDot and a few others. All of these registrars offer free pushes which can be accomplished in a few minutes. Sure beats waiting 7 days and you can always do a transfer to a different registrar at renewal time.

I'm such an idiot, is there a way to cancel the transaction and just "push" the domain over?

I cant find an option to cancel the transaction in my namecheap account.

How would I cancel a domain with a status of "Domain transfer initiated and awaiting approval" in namecheap? The tech support is out, i'm guessing for new years.

Have you already authorized the domain transfer at GoDaddy? If not, you can reject it.

The seller authorized the transaction, and he asked godaddy how to cancel it, and they told him that I need to cancel it at namecheap, but I can't find how

I heard it takes a maximum of 5 days for losing registrar to accept transfer, after that is it mine?
