Transfer server

I was told that there is a faster way to transfer a .zip backup file ..

This was what they told me :

"log into root on the new server and retrieve it over the server's 1.5Mbps connection"


I wonder if this could really work. How is the way to use this method?

Since currently im on dialup connection and need to move server.

You do a server to server transfer via a function like wget. If you don't know what your doing I would suggest you do it the safe way and contact your server administrator.
