Hi,

I was looking at the "High Traffic" domain names for sale on Sedo and I see tr100.com is first, it says it gets 1,156,726 visitors a month. It is not even on the first page in Google when searching for tr100 (tr100.net is fourth) and it is a parked Sedo page right now...

Anyway, I am just wondering what to make of these stats, are they legit? And if one was looking for a high traffic domain how would you really know that the traffic stats are legit?

Thanks...

Never ever thrust the stats !
Ask for proof if anyone tells you that the have more than 1000/day.
Another question would be if this is real traffic, or just some momentainious paid/pop under/etc.. traffic to boost listings.

There are a lot of ways to cheat so you never know. Always ask for proof I say.

Negativo.

Sedo records almost all hits (And some spiders) and bought hits show up as hits. Sedo does try to prevent this as much as possible, however (kudos, sedo).

The stats you see could be expired domain traffic (It used to be a site, now it's parked), or it could be "fake" hits (induced somehow).

If the traffic looks too good to be true, be cautious. If it's 1,000 uniques a month for big.com , I'm more prone to believe it.
