I just noticed that one of my names the traffic increases each day since I listed it on bodis about a month ago. Im new to domain parking. is this common? I regged the name about 2 months ago and its a very generic name so i dont think anything recently happening in the world is causing people to search for it more. Do parked domains just naturally increase in search results with age or what?

I know that I have freshly registered names that are gaining traffic since being parked with Bodis. I have noticed that they come up in google when searching for their keywords. With the way search engines work I believe it takes a week or two in order to get indexed. That number also depends on the search engine.

Thanks for the info. I also was wondering, if anybody knows, in the bodis area where you can customize there is the main area where you enter in words where it says "Auto-create links using keyword:" ....well lets say the name of my site is kookyrentals.com and lets say I add Car rentals in there as a clickable link and I add in florida keys rent as a clickable link . Ok so these 2 words are now links on my bodis page......so if someone searches for "car rentals" or "florida keys rent" on google....my page will be indexed for those 2 phrases because they are keywords on my site? Or only people searcing for "kooky rentals" or "kooky" or "rentals" will see my page in search results???...........I think that might be why im getting more clicks and visitors, because after about a week I changed the keywords in that list. Not sure though.

From what I understand about search engines. The keyword in the domain name is very important. Next links to the domain name in which the word tha is linking to the name counts toward getting a better rank. Another part to the search engine is when it crawls the page and it takes keywords from the text.

So, if you owned kookyrentals.com if someone to search kookyrentals your name would most likely come up first based off of the strong keyword match in the domain name. Next if many sites link to kookyrentals.com with Kookyrentals being hyperlink this will further increase your search engine ranking.

On the reverse site, if some linked to your site and the hyperlink said florida key rental then your site would rank higher for that search. This article is worth taking a look http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_bombing on just how much weight Google used to put into backlinks.

Lastly, If on you site you have lots of text including the words Florida Key Rental then Google will index your site with those keywords in mind. So overall, the keywords in the domain affect ranking, backlinks affect ranking, and then the text affects ranking.
